Concerns about keeping/losing user added info?

I've noticed the odd time some changes I've made have disappeared or reverted. Nothing major and it hasn't happened very often at all, but I'm wondering if anyone has had any issues? Basically, I'm going to rework genres. TMDb has way too many crossover genres, but before I go through 1300+ movies and 300+ tv shows, (the wife really likes searching movies by genre) and change things for better representation,. I wanted to ask if anyone has had lost info, or maybe it's not even worth me going through the whole thing? I also have concerns about migrating my server to a new machine in the future and keeping all my settings/info changes, if I should just wait or if the server transfers pretty flawlessly?

You might want to consider Genre Cleaner as it is designed pretty much just for that purpose.
