What version of Chocolate are you using and have you modified any style files?

The list view has a dark underlay now and the backdrop does not go underneath it like that.

Currently on 122. No I have not modified any style files.

That's the MBC version.  What is the version of Chocolate?

Can you post the entire screen shot?  You can put it directly in the post with the little image button in the button bar above...

I'm not sure how you made that happen.

Is that aspect ratio correct or did you squish the image when you captured it?

Posted

Are you on a 4:3 display?

Posted

That's correct. By the way it's the same for all movies with the light backdrop.

Posted

Are you on a 4:3 display?

No. It's a HD Monitor. This also happens on my HTPC which is set up to work with a 2.37 screen

Go into the config->Chocolate General.  Under 4:3 options un-check "Stretch Backdrop".

Was not checked

What is checked in there?  Give me a screen shot of the two Chocolate config panels.

I cannot make the backdrop go under the list unless I'm in 4:3 mode and have that option checked.

Here is what it should look like:

Actually that's what it looked like before the last upgrade.

Can anyone else reproduce this?

I just noticed in your config screen shots that something is seriously weird in your monitor setup.  The buttons and title for the config page are distorted and mis-placed.

Is your screen an odd resolution?

Posted

Yeah, I'd say that's odd.  1.6:1.

But I'm not sure what would have changed in chocolate to make it behave any differently.  Did you have a video driver update or changes lately?

Posted

No. The update notice came up and I followed. Strange that it has happened on two separate PCs

Posted

OK. I have MBClassic 117 and Chocolate 3.0.3.1 installed on another PC. When the update notice came up I clicked No. There was no change before or after. The screen remained as intended.

Do both machines have an odd aspect ratio?

It's the same monitor for the two machines. I am not using the HTPC at present.

I rolled back to chocolate v 3.0.2.11. The colour returned. It therefore looks like it could be something to do with the upgrade.

ebr, could it be a problem in displaypreferences.db? Then its rebuilding could help...

Posted

No, it isn't the display prefs.  It is one of those oddities with MCML and weird screen sizes.

lja - try 3.0.3.5 and see if it is different.

Thanks. Tried it. No change.

Try all of the different backdrop options in the 4:3 section of the chocolate config.  I'm pretty sure WMC is reporting your screen as non-widescreen since it isn't at least 1.78:1.

When I forced WMC into 4:3 mode I was able to make the backdrop work properly by fiddling with those options.
