Metadata and what Emby stores where

I currently have my Emby server configured storing metadata in it's own folder, as opposed to with the media. I'm using MCM to download some metadata which is  stored with the media.

 

Anyhow, if I configure Emby to store metadata with the meida then what kind of metadata will it store with my media, eg type and naming convention so I know what to expect.

 

And what will it still store centralized? I assume "people" and "chapter extractions" at least?

 

I've tried so search for this info but couldn't find it anywhere.

Yes i haven't looked at MCM lately but most likely the same file names. Our wiki does cover some accepted file names:

MCM and Legacy Image Saving setting   All metadata and images with media.

Ok thanks, just what I needed. Looks like it's no problem to keep MCM for initial metadata download and then let Emby take it from there.

I must note even though it isn't really functional I still have the xmlmetadata plugin installed also.

Ah, I missed the post regarding how Emby now does not read metadata from the xml-file by default. I guess I should install this plugin as well. Can't find it in the online cataloge so I guess I'll have to search the plugin forum section for it. Thanks for making me aware of this.

Hmm searched the plugin forum but can't find the xml metadata plugin there, can't find it in the online catalog either. Am I missing something?

The xml saver plugin has been removed from the catalog until we can find a new volunteer to maintain it. I would suggest sticking with our default nfo format as that is where pretty much all of our testing is going. Thanks.

Ok, but Emby will still *read* the xml files if they exist right? And according to the read order as configured on the server?
