Movie Play Painfully Slow

Recommended Posts

Posted

Hi I have Emby version 3.2.1.0 running on my Synology DS214se. I had a fair amount of install issues but got it working. One thing I have noticed however is while it loads quickly on my TV, when it comes to playing movies, it just spins and spins and can take sometimes up to 10 minutes to start playing a movie.

Any ideas why this is happening?

Thanks

Scott

The issue is that your transcoding is just not happening fast enough. Notice the frames per second you're getting.

You really need at least 24fps to be playable. What Emby app are you playing from? for this particular content you may want to stick to Emby apps that can direct play it without transcoding.

not sure i understand but it was stated above. It's a Synology DS214se and connected directly into my network.  CPU shows  MARVELL Armada 370 88F6707. I am using from Emby app installed on Synology - Version 3.2.1.0

You did not indicate what Emby app you're playing from. If by chance this is the Emby web app, web browsers do not support mpeg4 therefore we have to convert it on the fly, and it looks like your system just can't do that fast enough.
