ALAC transcoded

I have a bunch of music files stored as ALAC in m4a. They seem to be being transcoded, and the resulting transcodes don't seem to work on iOS. They don't play at all; client just sits there.

 

So there's two issues:

1) Ideally ALAC shouldn't be transcoded right? I don't see it in the list here though:

2) Transcoded ALAC doesn't seem to play:

transcode.log attached, I'll try and edit out the relevant parts of server.log
