kjp4756 41 Posted February 17, 2017 Posted February 17, 2017 Since installing one of the recent emby updates the web interface is quite slow to load. I get the spinning circle animation for several seconds. I've also recently updated my ubuntu 16.04 kernel from 4.4 to 4.8. I'm not sure if that may have something to do with it or not. I've attached a log. You can see a bunch of slow http responses at the very end. Any ideas? emby-server.log
kjp4756 41 Posted February 17, 2017 Author Posted February 17, 2017 I think I may have figured it out. Adblock might be causing the delay. On my desktop computer I don't have adblock installed in chrome and the emby web interface loads fine. On my laptop I have adblock installed and emby web interface is slow to load. I'll keep an eye on it and see what happens. If I continue to have issues I'll send another log (with debugging enabled this time).
kjp4756 41 Posted February 18, 2017 Author Posted February 18, 2017 It started acting up again. Adblock is removed from my browsers. Chrome for linux is affected and chrome for mac is also affected. Chrome on android appears to work fine. Linux laptop is using wiress and it loads slow. Mac OS is gigabit ethernet and loads slow Android phone is obviously wireless. I think AC. Loads fast, no delay. Attached is a server log with debugging enabled. You can see it takes around 8 seconds for the home page to load. This isn't a huge concern, it's just rather annoying. I think it's being doing this since the last ubuntu emby update. server-debug.log
Luke 42077 Posted February 18, 2017 Posted February 18, 2017 This is right after starting up the server so you're hitting the database cold. Subsequent attempts should be faster.
kjp4756 41 Posted February 18, 2017 Author Posted February 18, 2017 I rebooted it because it was slow and I also enabled debug logging. It was slow prior to rebooting and after rebooting. Emby has been running for 14 hours now and the web home page is still slow to load. If I check it again it will load quickly but if I wait for an hour or so it will be back to slow. Yet I have no issues using chrome for android. I'll attach another log. Maybe there is something in there showing a problem somewhere. server-debug.log
kjp4756 41 Posted February 18, 2017 Author Posted February 18, 2017 (edited) Looks like I fixed the issue. I uninstalled emby-server on my server. Deleted /usr/lib/emby-server. Reinstalled emby-server. All is well now. I'm not sure what happened to caused this. Edited February 18, 2017 by kjp4756
