Hi,

 

I can't find Emby for Android TV on the Play Store of my Minix Neo X8-H Plus, so I tried downloading the APK file from apkpure and I got an error saying "There was a problem parsing the package."

 

Any tips please?

Minix Neo X8-H Plus isn't an ATV box, so if that's the APK you were trying to side load, that's why it didn't work.

If you sideload the AndroidTV version it does this.

 

The standard Android version should install.

 

Just did this the other day.

 

Running 2.8.64 right now on mine.

Correct.  It was Android 5.0 that introduced the entire Android TV interface and API.

Awww OK thanks. I tried the Emby app but it's too unusable on an Android box. Thank God the Kodi plugin exists

True.  BUT just because it is not ATV does not mean it cannot run the Android TV emby app.  Its the fact that the Android version is less than 5.00 that precludes it

This may be due to reasons such as incompatible devices and applications. Try to allow apps from other sources to install, disable security software, turn on USB debugging, or reset your Android device to factory settings to fix parsing the package error.
