Deleted Fanart in movie sets always comes back!

Hi,

I've got a very annoying problem since some time. Some of my movie sets don't have its own fanart for some reason and so Emby Server takes always a poster from one of the movies inside for poster and thumb of the collection. I hate this and so I deleted the two images and locked the metadata.

But after 1 or 2 hours the images always are back again! I deleted the images again and after some time ... back again!

What can I do that Emby Server respects my wishes?

Did you use the Emby web interface to customize them?

Sounds like if no images are present, dynamic images are created.  If that is the case I don't believe there is a way to stop this.

Yes!

@Happy2Play: Then it has to be changed. Emby has to accept a deletion and not saying: "F... you! I want it back! Accept it!

@Luke: Now it is a feature request! A user / admin should have full control over metadata and fanarts and not the software!

Sorry for these hard words but for me it is soooo annoying!

Have you tried adding your own image instead of deleting?

At the moment I have no own images for these sets. But I've tested it with placeholder images and it works. But a black poster doesn't look so good! And I don't see the name of the collection at the overview.

I don't like it to work around the problem, I only want that the software doesn't recover the deleted images!

Sorry, but if you have no art for these and there is no online art for these, what do you imagine the system is supposed to show?

The current system is fine.  If you don't like the existing poster, make one of your own.  It should take about 8 seconds to make a 1000X1500 jpeg with the name of your collection on it.

It should show nothing, like a movie with no fanart.

And why should I be forced to make a "fast and dirty" poster to avoid this? I have a very strict quality standard for fanart and a blank image with just the name is no option for me.

If you like the system, it is ok. But a manual deletion shouldn't be make undone by the software, because it is MY decision what fanart I want to have. If I delete a poster from a single movie, it will be accepted. So why not with collections?!

That would be a very good solution for everyone!
