Best practices for AVCHD files

I'm new to Emby Server. I currently run MythTV but love what I see with Emby so I'm testing Emby to see how it all works to make sure it will work for my family. One of the things I'm struggling with is what to do with my AVCHD files. My camcorder records in AVCHD format and I'd prefer not to convert the files to another format to save time, etc. I simply copied the root AVCHD folder to the Emby server and the server recognizes the files as being a Bluray. When I click play nothing happens. I also looked at the logs and nothing is transcoding in the folder location it says it is. As a test, I then copied the "BDMV" folder from the root to another location and Emby does recognize those files, however, they are showing as individual clips in my home movies. I don't want that as some of these clips are litterally seconds long. I'd love to be able to play all the clips as one video in my home videos. I hope this makes sense?

What does everyone do with their AVCHD files?

Thanks

I don't believe BDMV folders are supported. Have you thought about using MakeMKV to package the video into a mkv container? There is not need to transcode the video so the conversion should be quite quick.

I was hoping to not have to convert any of my video files but I guess I will have to :)

Did you see this Dvd and Blu-ray?  But Emby considers all of there Experimental on support.

My BDMV folders work perfect....  they just don't display menus, only the main movie...
