* and I keys not working in playback?

Hi everyone, 

 

Long time lurker here. I'm finally working on making my MBT setup more family friendly so wanted to configure the * and I keys to work in playback so the non tech nerds can change subtitles view info etc. But the keyboard shortcuts (* and I) don't seem to work? What am I doing wrong?

Hi, are you using the newer Emby Theater or the legacy MBT (Media Browser Theater).

 

In the newer app, almost any input will open the video OSD, for example, just press the down arrow key.

I'm using the new Emby theatre. You are right pressing any input does bring up the bottom bar of course! I guess I need to explain to the family how they navigate to the cc option. I thought there may have been a way to get straight there?

I think in the future we will have a shortcut to get there, it's been requested before. thanks.
