PC Nerd 0 Posted February 11, 2017 Posted February 11, 2017 Hopefully I am not out of line here by posting this - if so please feel free to correct. I mean no insult... Brand new user of emby (long time user of Plex - sorry I said the "P" word) :0) Love this interface (new Roku beta) and its general design and functionality. Plex ain't got nothing on the music/queue side of what you all are trying to do. Hopefully the things I am going to mention aren't part of the "coming feature set". Again, If so, I am happy to shut up and wait. I am basically only using Emby and the roku preview app for music. I can't find anything else out there that has the queue option without the queue disappearing after selecting another song... or ... having to create playlists on the server side to use on the media stream side. In the latest roku preview (as of this post it is showing as 1.1.9.12) I can get the music playing and it loads images album covers for the music emby finds in my library etc but no matter what, when I am using it to create a queue, the interface locks up within a few minutes. Doesnt matter what I do... by "locks up" I mean the songs in the queue will continue to play but the arrow buttons on the roku 2 and roku 3 I am using (recently did a system update right before this post) cause the queue to either skip to the next song or go back to a previous song/replay if its at the first song. I can no longer navigate to find other songs to add to the queue. When I exit Emby on the roku and start again I get a few more minutes to organize a queue and then it locks up again with the same result. Not sure if its the preview app itself or the way I may have my server config'd or something else. I have my library for music organized a little different and so far I have tried several things: -put all single songs into a single folder - same results - this was the crash -create a single folder for each artist only and drop the songs of that artist in there -created folder structure by recommendations for Emby (artist\album\track) I have restarted the roku (which crashed once for the first folder setup) and the Emby server/computer too. Not sure if this is helpful or even close to what you developers are focused on but thought I would share. I think I am going to stick around a bit and mess with this thing. Please feel free to holler if there is any specific I need to post or mention with as far as testing goes.(Side note - I am an I.T. Admin along with 20 years experience in development and troubleshooting of windows apps with MySQL and VB/.NET - with a light dabble in python and C). Not bragging in the least and I doubt my experience would be of any help other than basic understanding of functional usage but I would be happy to volunteer a few hours of weekend time to test as a general user or help in any way. Thanks again for where you all are taking this Roku app - its looking and working quite well considering its in preview. <thumbs up> Regards, PC Nerd
ebr 16177 Posted February 11, 2017 Posted February 11, 2017 Sounds to me like you've simply discovered a bug in the preview. I'll take a look. Thanks for reporting.
Solution ebr 16177 Posted February 13, 2017 Solution Posted February 13, 2017 Please test with 1.19.14.
PC Nerd 0 Posted February 15, 2017 Author Posted February 15, 2017 Wow that's service. Thanks so much for addressing this so quickly. That looks to have done it. Can't fully test till this weekend but it seems to be working darn good with a quick 10 minute test. Might have found another one by accident and can't really say for sure because haven't had time to do all the basic steps to confirm yet. Basically though, when I do a search in my music and find a song I'd like to add to the queue it prompts to ask if I want to add to the queue or replace it but when I say add to the queue it doesn't seem to want to add it. Again, I can't fully test it yet so I don't want to send anyone on a wild goose chase but tried it with a couple quick searches and it wouldn't add it. I went back to just browsing music and added from there a couple more times and it worked fine but it doesn't seem to want to add to the queue directly from search. Will do more this weekend. Thanks again. PC Nerd.
