Premiere trial

Hello,

I'm under the impression that there is a 14 day trial of Emby Premiere available, however I cannot see how to activate it?

I'm looking to transition from an annual Plex Pass to Emby and want to make sure that the combination of server and the Android app work as I hope.

Just discovered that the offline sync still requires a network connection to the server. Sadly I'll have to stick with Plex until this feature is made available. After having spent the day setting up mu Emby server, I was just about to switch

I find it disappointing that it need the server to be always connected.

 

I simply can't understand why I would need my laptop to be connected to the server 24/7 to watch TV, movies and shows proivide by my PITV provider.  They are all URL based.  so why does the laptop need to be always connected.  It is annoying.

Also it would be nice if there was at least a 48 hour trial period.

 

But the server issue is a deal breaker.

So if all you are concerned about is watching live IPTV why are you trying to use any sort of media server?

 

Emby is designed to house all your media whether live tv or movie library or photos or music in a central place and DISTRIBUTE it to one or more client devices simultaneously.

 

And it does it very well.

 

For this to work the Server, by definition has to be running and available.

Because it does it very well is why I would like to use Emby.

 

Anyway, there is no point in debating. It looks like it needs a server base to be open all the time. For me it is not good. For other it might be ok.

Hi.  Yes, we are a personal media server platform - not an IPTV client app.  So we are designed for server access because that is where all of the media and functionality is.

for Emby not to have a trial for Premiere absolutely sucks.  Seems liek Emby is hiding something or is not confident in their product.

 

If you are so proud of your product and services, then you would offer at least 24 or 48 hours trial on premiere so people can see what you have on offer.

You cannot try everything out in 48 hours. There is just too much!

 

You obviously place very little value on your own time and that of others!

 

$4.99 is absolutely nothing to be able to properly test and understand emby over a full month.

 

Fortunately it weeds out those users that really dont deserve to be helped and belong to the emby community in the first place.

I just installed Emby, looking for an alternative for Plex (since my iPad does not show subtitles and the last update broke Samsung TV from 2019 to work).

I'm just uninstalling Emby as I'm not paying to try something.

If you decide to offer trial let me know.

Hi.  The iPad app should allow you test playback for up to one minute which should give you a chance to see if your subtitles work properly and if everything else is to your liking.
