RogerRabbit 0 Posted February 10, 2017 Posted February 10, 2017 Last week when Emby auto generated the Library images it used the posters from tv shows, now all of a sudden it no longer uses the poster, but an episode thumb. Movies and music are not affected.
RogerRabbit 0 Posted February 10, 2017 Author Posted February 10, 2017 (edited) First one are movies, is okSecond one are tv shows, no posters are used, but episode thumbnails Edited February 10, 2017 by ocram
Jdiesel 1431 Posted February 10, 2017 Posted February 10, 2017 (edited) I still have posters for TV. If you delete the primary library image it should regenerate on the next library scan. You could try that and see if the poster come back. Edit: Just saw your example, I was thinking it was on the TV library card not all the individual TV series posters. Jdiesel 1431 Posted February 10, 2017 Posted February 10, 2017 (edited) First one are movies, is ok Second one are tv shows, no posters are used, but episode thumbnails Which view/screen is this from? Can you show the full screen? Edited February 10, 2017 by Jdiesel
RogerRabbit 0 Posted February 10, 2017 Author Posted February 10, 2017 Your fix has been tried numerous times, dos not work, exact same image will reappear, also did a complete reinstall
Jdiesel 1431 Posted February 10, 2017 Posted February 10, 2017 Do you by chance have local copies of the image files in your media directories? If so open one of the TV series images up and see if it is a poster of a backdrop.
Jdiesel 1431 Posted February 10, 2017 Posted February 10, 2017 (edited) Do you have TV posters if you go into TV then the "Shows" view? Edited February 10, 2017 by Jdiesel
RogerRabbit 0 Posted February 10, 2017 Author Posted February 10, 2017 When viewing the TV library every TV Show has proper poster, thumb, backdrop, .... images. When automatically generating a new image for the front page, it does not pick a poster but a fragment of random episodes. Couple of days ago it was still working OK.
Happy2Play 9781 Posted February 10, 2017 Posted February 10, 2017 What is the structure of your TV Shows folder? Do you have any media items in root TV Shows folder?
RogerRabbit 0 Posted February 10, 2017 Author Posted February 10, 2017 Do you have TV posters if you go into TV then the "Shows" view? Perhaps your install is even more broken than mine, if you have no idea what I'm talking about... Do you have just some colored squares for TV, Movies, Music, ...?
RogerRabbit 0 Posted February 10, 2017 Author Posted February 10, 2017 (edited) What is the structure of your TV Shows folder? Do you have any media items in root TV Shows folder? Structure is exactly the same as when it was still working /tvshows/The 100/Season 01/The.100.S01E01/The.100.S01E01.mkv Only thing I can think of between it working and not is the 3.2.0 update. Does the location of the metadata (next to media files) have an impact on it being able to generate the correct poster image collage? Edited February 10, 2017 by ocram

RogerRabbit 0 Posted February 13, 2017 Author Posted February 13, 2017 Nobody has any idea why it's picking episode thumbnails instead of posters?
Luke 42080 Posted February 13, 2017 Posted February 13, 2017 hi @@ocram, we'll review it for a future update, thanks !
sNET 2 Posted January 19, 2018 Posted January 19, 2018 (edited) Hello everyone... today, after round about one year, I still have this problem. Movies library folders are working fine (collections also), but in tv-shows it "scrapes" only episode thumbs instead of series posters. Can we expect a fix soon? Thanks and greets, Thomas Edit: It doesn't pick a episode thumb everytime, sometimes there will picked a poster from series, sometimes from season...it seems, emby picks a picture-file randomly from my tv-show database. Luke 42080 Posted January 19, 2018 Posted January 19, 2018 hi @@sNET, we're not aware of any particular problem right now. please try refreshing one of these series from the detail screen using the 3-dot menu. If the issue persists then please attach the information requested in how to report a problem. thanks !
zmediaserver 5 Posted January 23, 2018 Posted January 23, 2018 I've been having this exact same problem for several months now. For some reason when Emby generates the library image collage for TV Shows, it picks thumbnails instead of show posters. I'm also noticing in my case, they're almost all from the same show (South Park). Interestingly, I have 2 TV Show libraries, one called "TV" and one called "TV for Kids", and only the "TV" library is having this problem. Here's a screenshot from my library dashboard: I was able to delete the library completely, then re-add it about 2 months ago and the image collage regenerated properly using the show's posters, but on subsequent library scans it has reverted back to what you see in the screen shot. Running emby server v. 3.2.70.0 on FreeBSD 11.1. Thanks!
Luke 42080 Posted January 23, 2018 Posted January 23, 2018 Hi there, please try again with the next release of emby server. thanks !
zmediaserver 5 Posted March 3, 2018 Posted March 3, 2018 Confirmed, this issue has been resolved with server update 3.3.0.0 Thank you all so much for your hard work! You guys are awesome!
