PhyberApex 16 Posted February 10, 2017 Posted February 10, 2017 Hey, it seems that emby is not able to create a "Season 0" / "Specials" if I set the metadata manually to that season. If I edit metadata from a tvshow and there is no specials season yet in this show it does not created. The episodes are gone but the specials season can not be viewed in the web-ui and thus the episode can't be edited anymore. If I edit the name to something like "TVSHOW - S00E01 - EPISODE" it get's detected on the next scan and the specials season is created and viewable in the metadata manager and the web-ui and the manually edited episode is there as well. I hope I explained my issue enough. Please ask if you need further information. ~Cheers
Luke 42086 Posted February 10, 2017 Posted February 10, 2017 By edit the name you mean edit the file name, or the name in the Emby editor?
PhyberApex 16 Posted February 10, 2017 Author Posted February 10, 2017 By edit the name you mean edit the file name, or the name in the Emby editor? I mean if I edit the file name and do a library scan. ~Cheers
PhyberApex 16 Posted February 11, 2017 Author Posted February 11, 2017 To give you an exact example. I have a TV show called "Youjo Senki" with 5 episodes named like this: Youjo Senki - 01 - The Devil of the Rhine.mkv Youjo Senki - 02 - Prologue.mkv Youjo Senki - 03 - Deus Vult.mkv Youjo Senki - 04 - Campus Life.mkv Youjo Senki - 05 - My First Battalion.mkv Emby does scan those just fine. Now there was a special released. I put the file called "Youjo Shenki - 01 - Episode 00.mkv" in this folder. Emby library scan detects it as season 1 episode 1. I edit it to be season 0 episode 1 because it is a special. Now this file is gone from any UI. Now I put in a second special named "Youjo Shenki - S00E02 - Episode 01.mkv" in the same folder. With the next library scan emby detects this file correctly as season 0 episode 2 and the specials are now visible in the UI. The file called "Youjo Shenki - 01 - Episode 00.mkv" now also gets listed as season 0 episode 1. Any further manual edits work as expected. This behaviour seems only to happen if the tvshow does not have a specials season yet and I try to "create" one manually. So the workaround for me right now is to create a dummy file with the correct naming for a library scan to pick up a special episode so the specials "season" is visible in the UI and then delete this file. ~Cheers
Solution Luke 42086 Posted February 11, 2017 Solution Posted February 11, 2017 I think it might actually be the library scan that is correcting it, not the dummy file. In other words, right now the season container is not created until the series is refreshed. it's something we can look at improving for a future update. 1
Happy2Play 9785 Posted February 11, 2017 Posted February 11, 2017 (edited) Just tested this and it takes time but as @@Luke just mentioned a library scan does fix this. Note on the episode 00 I changed season and TVDBID and refreshed. Edited February 11, 2017 by Happy2Play 1
Luke 42086 Posted February 11, 2017 Posted February 11, 2017 Thanks @@Happy2Play. A refresh of the individual series will also fix it. It's definitely something we can look to improve to handle in real time. 1
PhyberApex 16 Posted February 11, 2017 Author Posted February 11, 2017 All right so no more dummy files just more patience. Thanks for looking into it tho! ~Cheers
