machine74 0 Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 I'm new to this kind of media management and I wonder if the community might be able to assist here. I jumped into this in the hopes of creating a "channel" for my favorite DVDs, be they Marvel movies or classic Trek/Battlestar. I don't need all the bells and whistles, just something to organize everything and let me click around and watch episodes at my discretion. Just for background, my process is as follows: --Burn the blu ray content to HDD using MakeMKV. I select only the largest episode files and the English audio tracks. --Rename the files into the correct format, and put them in a directory that I have referenced in Media Browser Server. --Once the meta data is obtained, I can find them in Media Browser Theater and I send the signal to my TV. Now, my questions: 1. Is there a better way to control the interface where I could navigate my TV series titles? I very much prefer list mode, but it's hard to control the scrolling with a mouse. 2. Are there other skins available for MBT? 3. I have a sound bar connected to my TV (with subwoofer) that I'm sending the signal to via HDMI. I find that the MBT app tends to not push it loud enough so I have to readjust all the time. Can this be changed or normalized? Thanks for any help you can provide, this is great stuff.
pmac 143 Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 (edited) 1. As of right now, MBT is not optimized for navigation with a mouse. If anything, I would say poster or thumb view would be the easiest when using a mouse, but still not ideal. 2. No. MBT is still in an alpha phase, so theme development would be difficult to keep up with changes to the core. 3. You may need to adjust your settings in the LAV audio decoder setup. You could try installing Media Browser Classic for WMC, it has a mouse optimization option, and a large variety of excellent themes to use which may be easier for you to navigate. Good luck and welcome to MB3 Edited February 3, 2014 by pmac

Good luck and welcome to MB3 Hey. I've fiddled with LAV config but it seems to make no difference. I would LAV not to process DTS and Dolby streams. Just shoot them directly out of the PC through SPDIF. I let my receiver fiddle with the sound as needed. Stereo streams can become PCM.. As it is now now, any Dolby or DTS stream is processed and sent as PCM (I think). Do you you know how to fix that for MBT? Edited March 27, 2014 by Starlionblue
