Feature Request - Archive records with HEVC/ffmpeg

Hi,

 

don't know where to put feature request for emby, so I write it here.

 

I'd like to have a scheduled job, which picks some records (rules should be defined by admin, for example older than a month or all records of series XY) and encode it with ffmpg to HEVC in an archive directory of the server. It would also be nice to have a context menu (encode/archive) for each record within the emby apps.

 

So, Im using NextPVR to record TV and it saves the records in an .ts container and most probably MPEG2, which uses 1MB per second(!).

 

Really great would be, if emby deletes the NextPVR records and uses the new encoded ones instead. Or one could configure the archive folder as media library and the encoded records will automatically appear.

Hi, we don't have exactly this, but you can look the Folder Sync feature as a way to achieve something close to this.
