KingGuru 0 Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 I prefer not having what I watch ect. uploaded anywhere, but I can't see if this solution can be used as an all local setup in my enviroment without sending any personalized data out. Anyone know what if any data is sent out of my enviroment? KG.
ebr 16185 Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 Emby does not track what you watch or what is in your library. Privacy Policy
legallink 187 Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 From a more elaborated standpoint, I don't believe Emby transfers the data of what you watch, own, etc. outside of your environment. There are only 2 instances of outside connectoins, 1. is the metadata grabbing. Emby will automatically look to imdb, etc. to grab metadata and load it onto your system. However, I don't believe that api call transfers any information related to you, and emby doesn't store on it's servers any lookups you have done. All of this is stored locally; 2. emby connect. If you use this feature it will do a dns lookup and your ip address of your server will be used, naturally. That being said, what you are watching etc. is not stored anywhere by emby. The one caveat is always that if someone were specifically watching your traffic there is an element that they could parse what call is being sent from the ip address for metadata grabbing or emby connect, but they would have to already be watching your specific traffic. At least this is as far as I know. I'm not aware of the api calls require a https connection or not when transmitting, and for that matter, an ssl connection (which I assume not, but I don't know either way.)
