Quick Metadata Question

Under Settings -> Library -> Advanced

 

If I specify a path for Metadata say for instance D:\Emby will it save the meta into:

D:\Emby\metadata

 

or

D:\Emby

I just had some really minor raid issues and some settings seemed to have gotten slightly jostled  as a lot of my pictures aren't showing up. I'm 99% sure its the former but not 100% sure based on some quick tests.

 

Also, the last thing I did before having these hardware issues was change the setting to make metadata hidden (It's specified to be saved in the folder). Does a rescan currently go through and look for all data to resave those attributes? Previously this wasn't the case. I'm wondering if this is the reason my images seem all messed up.

I checked the wiki and the answer wasn't forth coming and any topic on this sort of issue was at lest a year old, so I figured I'd get the current answer if for no other reason then documentation purposes.

It will use

D:\Emby\metadata

As far as changing the setting, it is applied to new metadata going forward, so it will not go back and retroactively apply it to previously saved files. However, if you refresh a title, then it will apply at that point.

Yea, thats how it was previously. I hadn't seen any patch notes recently that said otherwise, so thats what I had assumed.
