(guide off). Let's assume the Channels Tab in Live TV setup had an EPG Offset column that by default is 0. If we had an offset on guide setup and I set it to +1, after a refresh looking at the channel tab I'd have a new offset of 1 showing for every channel mapped to that guide. What if only some of the channels are off but most are correct? In this case a duplicate guide is added but an offset of +1 is added. This guide will be used to remap only the channels that need the offset. Assuming it's a duplicate guide then editing the channel should be fast since I can see the channel number it was mapped to so I can quickly change the provider and re-enter the number and now I've changed the offset using a second guide. What if I could enter an offset directly in the tuner setup. If my channel tab shows all 0 as the offset but edit my tuner and set the EPG Offset to +1 and refresh, the channel tab will now show +1 for each of the channels coming from that tuner. While it could technically do that, it seems wrong to set an offset on a tuner, as it could have channels showing an offset not matched to a guide entry. What I've typically seen is a guide that's exactly 1 hour off. It's normally not the guide but the computer's time zone or daylight savings settings that are the problem. Fix them and the guide shows properly. All guides should use UTC time for start and stop times which should self-adjust correctly based on your daylight-saving time setting and time zone configuration. I'm not sure we should offer mass offset for a whole guide at a time as that can have its own downside. I think the right place to change this offset would be at the channel level such as on the Channels tab in Live TV setup. Carlo
gillmacca01 211 Posted March 8, 2025 Posted March 8, 2025 I agree with @Carlo. In my situation, i have an IPTV service, but use Emby's guide data. My provider gives me east and west coast channels (USA Network East & USA Network West), but when I use the correct zip codes, the east coast guide matches with what is on the channel, but the West coast guide is showing exactly the same as the east coast even though the west coast is 3 hrs behind 1
crusher11 1101 Posted March 8, 2025 Posted March 8, 2025 I have a similar situation: most networks run a state-specific IPTV feed, but one only runs a national IPTV feed. So I have to subscribe to, and pay for, two TV guides: one in west coast time and one in east coast time. I use the west-coast-time one for the networks that have a state-specific feed, and the east-coast-time one for the network that only runs the national feed. If I could type an offset into the national channels, and thus get rid of one of my TV guide subscriptions, that would be excellent. 1
Carlo 4560 Posted March 8, 2025 Posted March 8, 2025 Most of the time when people ask me about EPG time shifting, it's almost always to adjust an East coast feed by 3 hours so it can be used for a west coast channel. Being able to edit the EPG time shift or offset right in the channel configuration when you edit the channel makes the most sense in these cases. I'd suggest adding "EPG Time Shift" to the channel edit screen and not touch the Tuners & Guide Sources to start with. This would provide an easy solution for the East/West channel issue as well when a person has a couple channels off an hour needing a little love. 1
