Subtitles distorted when direct streaming (repost from server/windows forum)

Hi

 

When I'm streaming a movie from the server, with direct stream.

 

 

The subtitles gets distorted.

 

But when streaming a lower quality, so the server has to transcode the movie, it works perfectly.

 

 

Sooo.. anybody else seen this problem?

.. Anyway to force the server to transcode all streams?

 

.. And yeah, this problem occurred on 3.12 and are still not working on 3.2

Is this the android emby player? Or is this the webplayer? Maybe try a different browser? You posted this in the windows section.

Yeah, this occurs on the android only, as far as I know..

 

But since this only happens during direct stream, I also need to examine if this is a server issue.. or android issue. I'll put a post in there too.

Well, if you direct stream, then the player is in need to render the subtitles as an overlay to the playing media. On transcoding, the server renders the subtitle into the media stream.

Think you have to bring some more information on which browser you are using... version and so an. Tried other browsers? Chrome for eg?

Well the issue is on android, a samsung pad (the first picture tells the version)..

 

I don't have much more information.

 

However I got a lot of errors in the log file ( but have no idea why or what it means)

Is there anyway to force transcode on all media that are sent?
