Emby Connect not connecting to server outside of network

Hello everyone.

 

I hope this is just an easy fix but I had everything working properly and then over night it stopped letting me connect to my server remotely with connect. The mobile android app does let me connect and see my content.

 

I have port forwarding setup. 

I restarted the server

I restarted the emby server itself

removed port forwarding and readded it on my router

I've tried multiple browers and a different device

 

Each time im getting the following:

I am newer with this so I apologize if this might be an easy fix. I can connect with the connect app on my home network which made me think it was port forwarding at first. I'm just stuck at this point with things to look over. Thanks

Hi.  Make sure your external IP address has not changed (the address your ISP provides on the outside of your router).

 

Also make sure the address reported by the server dashboard is the same as this external IP address.

If it has changed would it be as simple as removing the server and readding it under connect? I removed the server and readded it and I can see it listed there under the select a server option under connect but when I goto it remotely now nothing is listed.

If the IP changes then you don't need to do anything with Emby Connect. It will handle that on it's own. That's one of the things that it was designed for. Let us know if this helps. Thanks !

Weirdly I still can't see any servers outside of my network when using connect. 

 

I was able to get the server linked back up and displayed but it still won't let me access it via connect outside my network. Everything else appears to be working as intended though

Can you access anything else from outside your network?

Following the article I try: Remote (WAN) access: [redacted]

 

This doesn't load for me.

 

Moving on to step two: http://www.canyouseeme.org/ does verify it can see port 8096 open

 

Restarted server

 

Restarted router

 

Same issue

 

Also to answer I can access other things outside my network. The mobile app works fine as well as a plex setup I still have going until I have everything set the way I like it with emby

I just clicked on the link you had above (I removed it so you don't get swamped) and it loaded the Emby Login page for me...

You're right. It must be the location im physically at. I just tried using my phones network and it worked. Thank you much for being patient and helping me out
