zombieagain 7 Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 Hi, I'm impressed by the metadata handling in MB3, but I'm still using metabrowser for my collection of Italian movies and I want to see if I can use MB3 for the metadata of these collection to. As an example I have this movie http://www.themoviedb.org/movie/139504-il-comandante-e-la-cicogna?language=it and in the server metadata I set Italian as preferred language both in the parent item and in the movie page itself, but if I refresh the data, the overview is fetched in English. Another examples is this movie http://www.themoviedb.org/movie/59579-into-paradiso?language=it where the overview is only available in Italian, and if I refresh the metadata, the overview field remains empty. Any suggestion on how to get MB3 to fetch data from themoviedb in Italia, or is it even possible? Thanks!
Luke 42077 Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 That should be all you have to do, so you'll probably have to give us more information and tell us exactly what you did.
zombieagain 7 Posted February 2, 2014 Author Posted February 2, 2014 Luke, I looked at this a little more. My settings for metadata are: Download metadata from the internet Save metadata within folder Language: English Country: United States Disable automatic updates from themoviedb (I guess I can enable this once we figure this out) I then I have a collection for which I set language as Italian and Country as Italy. The interesting part is that I noticed that these last settings don't stick. After I save them, if I refresh the page, the Language and Country fields go back to be empty. Could this be part of the issue? Thanks, Giovanni
Luke 42077 Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 that sounds like it could be a problem yes.
zombieagain 7 Posted February 2, 2014 Author Posted February 2, 2014 Can I edit these settings manually instead of using the web interface? Or maybe I can remove the collection and add it again...
zombieagain 7 Posted February 4, 2014 Author Posted February 4, 2014 Hey Luke, sorry to bother you again. I confirmed that setting the metadata language preference in a specific movie works as expected, while the same setting doesn't work for the parent folder where all these Italian movies are stored. Is there a way to make this work or should I go ahead and set the preference one by one for each one of these movies (more than 100)? Thanks, Giovanni
Luke 42077 Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 for now do it individually. it was never intended to be inherited unless the items have an actual relationship, such as episodes of a tv series. it will have to wait until we have bulk editing.
