hstamas 179 Posted February 2, 2017 Posted February 2, 2017 Windows Emby server on Windows 10. Have real time monitoring checked for my TV library. Added a new show and it never got recognized. Waited 5 minutes. Hit the scan library button and it found the episode. Am I missing something? How long do you you need to wait? Server log attached. Logs.txt
Luke 42080 Posted February 2, 2017 Posted February 2, 2017 Hi there, can you please discuss an example? thanks !
hstamas 179 Posted February 2, 2017 Author Posted February 2, 2017 See above Luke. I added an episode of Troll Hunters to my server. Waited over 5 minutes. It never got recognized until I hit the Scan Library button in the server dashboard screen. I know that OS X used to (still does?) had issues recognizing new content but I thought with Windows this worked as advertised?
hstamas 179 Posted February 2, 2017 Author Posted February 2, 2017 oh gosh I can remember now. Let me try another test and get back to you with new logs.
hstamas 179 Posted February 2, 2017 Author Posted February 2, 2017 Ok put the following file in the series folder at 1:49:10pm: Trollhunters - S01E07 - To Catch a Changeling - WEBDL-720p.mkv As of right now (1:58pm) its is not showing up in Emby at all. Also, once it does get recognized shouldn't it be listed in at the top of the "Latest TV" on the main home page? The one episode I got to show up by initiating a scan is not on that screen at all. Logs attached. 1-56pm logs.txt
Happy2Play 9782 Posted February 2, 2017 Posted February 2, 2017 (edited) What OS system are your files on, since they are on a remote share? Edited February 2, 2017 by Happy2Play
hstamas 179 Posted February 2, 2017 Author Posted February 2, 2017 They are on a mac mini with a directly attached Drobo. When I play files i get direct streaming so I assume my substitutions are set up correctly.
Happy2Play 9782 Posted February 2, 2017 Posted February 2, 2017 @@Luke would have to say for sure, but I don't think Realtime monitoring works across mixed environments. I could be wrong.

Luke does the OS X server support real time updating? That is my ideal setup but last time I was testing Emby it was not working. Also still have massive graphical issues using the OS X version of the server (blank screens and constantly spinning "wait" indicators) so I thought running the server on my HTPC might be a better option.
Mopar_Mudder 14 Posted February 2, 2017 Posted February 2, 2017 I have noticed the same thing. I add a movie and a couple hours later it is still not added, then the next day it shows up. I am guessing it is getting picked up when a scheduled library scan takes place. My media a stored on a server running UnRaid, Emby Server running on a windows 7 machine.

hstamas 179 Posted February 3, 2017 Author Posted February 3, 2017 yes it does. Switched back to OS X server with directly connected drobo storage and its not updating. How long should we be waiting for new content to be recognized?

Luke 42080 Posted February 3, 2017 Posted February 3, 2017 Well I notice i your logs no events are firing so perhaps there is a regression in the mono runtime's fileSystemWatcher for OSX. Although on my test macbook I do remember seeing them recently. I'll test it out.
Mopar_Mudder 14 Posted February 3, 2017 Posted February 3, 2017 I added a movie last night at 5:20, as of 9:00 it was not listed yet. Thismorning I see it is their but a library scan ran 5 hours ago, so that could be what picked it up. Movie was ripped from BluRay direct to my UnRaid server, takes about 40 minutes to do the rip, don't know if it could be something with the long time it is taking to create the file.
hstamas 179 Posted February 3, 2017 Author Posted February 3, 2017 (edited) Tried a movie download just now and it is recognized pretty immediately so thats working. Tried another TV episode and 40 minutes later still nothing. Again, my setup is OS X 10.10.5 with directly connected Drobo drives. Edited February 3, 2017 by hstamas
Guest asrequested Posted February 3, 2017 Posted February 3, 2017 And just to confirm, you do have real time monitoring enabled for that library?
