Jdiesel 1431 Posted February 2, 2017 Posted February 2, 2017 I have been experiencing a repeatable crash when playing back a LiveTV stream from a M3U. Playback starts and plays for approximately 10 seconds then starts over from the beginning again. It will then play for approximately 1 minute before playback stops completely and the error "An unexpected problem (but not server timeout or HTTP error) has been detected". I can play the same stream in the web player with no restarts or crashes just fine. I've attached a transcoding log.
Sven 136 Posted February 2, 2017 Posted February 2, 2017 Best is also to post your server log.. See my signature for a How-To
Jdiesel 1431 Posted February 2, 2017 Author Posted February 2, 2017 I prefer to PM my server logs to developers as there are private IP addresses, and plain text passwords and m3u links in it and it takes way to long to scrub out the sensitive information.
ebr 16169 Posted February 2, 2017 Posted February 2, 2017 What happens with this same stream in the published Roku app?
Jdiesel 1431 Posted February 2, 2017 Author Posted February 2, 2017 Good question, I never thought to test the published app. Will try when I get home.
Jdiesel 1431 Posted February 3, 2017 Author Posted February 3, 2017 I did a bit more testing. The published app plays the stream without crashing however there is some occasional buffering compared to my Shield TV running the Android TV app which doesn't have any buffering. The Beta app buffers at the start then eventually crashes after 1-2 minutes of playback.
ebr 16169 Posted February 3, 2017 Posted February 3, 2017 Just to be clear, the app isn't "crashing" right? You just get an error playing the stream...
Jdiesel 1431 Posted February 3, 2017 Author Posted February 3, 2017 Correct, the stream stops playing and the error dialog pops up.
Jdiesel 1431 Posted February 3, 2017 Author Posted February 3, 2017 Not sure if anything changed in the latest beta but I seem to be able to watch live TV alright now. I will do some more testing and let you know if I have any more errors.
ebr 16169 Posted February 3, 2017 Posted February 3, 2017 I think this is probably related to the stream unfortunately.
Jdiesel 1431 Posted February 9, 2017 Author Posted February 9, 2017 I am still experiencing these stream dropouts on the Roku but not the webclient or the Android TV app. All three clients seem to be getting the same h264/aac copied remux but only the Roku has difficulty playing it. Is there any testing I can do to help troubleshoot?
