PVTD 37 Posted February 2, 2017 Posted February 2, 2017 Hy, am I a total noob or what?! I wanted to finally test out the Folder Sync plugin and could not figure out how I'm supposed to use it... I got my remote 20Tb server up and running since yesterday and really wanted to get this going... All I get is the plugin Settings: So when I wanted to create a folder, I could NOT set a remote server path in any way... X:\ was not working and \\server\disk was not being accepted... I ended up getting a script to move files 1h after they got placed in a folder. Tho, this is the least optimal setting. So, when I set a folder up in my Raid0 SSD setup that is on the root server, it worked... But that is so messy really... Now, I did that... But... Where are the awesome settings I see everyone posting screenshots about? I tried Sync/Services but end up in the plugin page. I tried from the plugin page but ALL I can do is set up a folder. Transcoding has no sub pages, and none of the others are related to this. Heelp Your friend, PV
PVTD 37 Posted February 2, 2017 Author Posted February 2, 2017 (edited) Hy Luke Yes, but it's a network share. I know its best to use the direct path instead of mapped network drives, but nothing works remotely. Is the plugin outdated maybe? Even if I set it to my caching SSD, it gets accepted, but no settings show up. The remote drive is writable btw. PV Edited February 2, 2017 by PVTD
Luke 42077 Posted February 2, 2017 Posted February 2, 2017 Can you please provide the emby server log? thanks !
PVTD 37 Posted February 2, 2017 Author Posted February 2, 2017 Hey Luke, I wanted to recreate the problem, but currently I am rebuilding the pool so I took it offline. It shouldn't take more then a few hours. This is the log where I installed the plugin, after that I could not find any other log from last night. I did search a bit in it but could not find any relevant info TBH. I can set the Folder Sync to a local drive sitting on Emby's server to test, but still can't see any options. I can only replace the name of the folder and location or remove the folder. Log.txt
Luke 42077 Posted February 4, 2017 Posted February 4, 2017 @@PVTD that's by design, what options were you expecting?
PVTD 37 Posted February 4, 2017 Author Posted February 4, 2017 (edited) Hey @@Luke, I was expecting some type of options to be set like on the wiki and other screenshots from users on the forum. https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Wiki/wiki/Folder%20Sync Once I set the folder, starting the sync doesn't do much either. Im pretty confused with the folder sync thing haha, sorry Edited February 4, 2017 by PVTD

PVTD 37 Posted February 4, 2017 Author Posted February 4, 2017 @@Luke @@Latchmor I still cant get further then setting a destination folder... I dont see the menu you have Latchmor... Once I set the folder, its all I can do, No new menu shows up. I feel like I'm missing a step somewhere... All I can do is this: By doing this: Where is the rest? If you want to see for yourself, I can PM you a TeamViewer ID.
Latchmor 584 Posted February 4, 2017 Posted February 4, 2017 Where is the rest? Go to one of your movies, click the 3 dot menu, click Sync to other device. 1
PVTD 37 Posted February 4, 2017 Author Posted February 4, 2017 Go to one of your movies, click the 3 dot menu, click Sync to other device. So... It's not going to convert your entire library? I understood that it can be used to backup your library and while you are at it, convert everything... Oh crap, I completely got this wrong did I xD
Latchmor 584 Posted February 4, 2017 Posted February 4, 2017 Well you can hover over your 'My Media' top level items on the home screen and get to the same menu. I've only ever done 1 at a time but give it a go! 1
PVTD 37 Posted February 5, 2017 Author Posted February 5, 2017 Well you can hover over your 'My Media' top level items on the home screen and get to the same menu. I've only ever done 1 at a time but give it a go! Oh man, life changer!!!! Thank you. Now figure out how set the directory on my remote server as it doesn't like \\server\ nor z:/ 1
