tulai 0 Posted February 1, 2017 Posted February 1, 2017 Hi everyone, I am using emby server to manage some non-English movies that mostly are not in theMovieDB or likewise. I write some scripts to scrape meta info of these movies from web, save them as nfo files in the movie folders and hope emby can import them automatically. But I found that emby can only import some tag infos as <title>, <originaltitle> but can not import tag info like <genre>, <actor>, <studio>. I also save the actors' poster to corresponding folder like metafolder/People/%firstletter/name/poster.jpg. and type down the <thumb> .../poster.jpg<\thumb> I found that all these custom editing info will be overwrite after I refresh the movie in emby management. I am almost sure that the nfo I typed manually have the same format that emby generate. I guess the tag info like genre actor studio may be related with emby's local db so that they can not be simply imported by editing the nfo files. So I'd like to ask whether there are ways to batch import metadata from existing local files. Thanks
Luke 42080 Posted February 1, 2017 Posted February 1, 2017 Hi @@tulai, yes we certainly can import genre, actor and studio.
Abobader 3464 Posted February 1, 2017 Posted February 1, 2017 Good day, If this for arabic, I can test your script if you like. My best
tulai 0 Posted February 2, 2017 Author Posted February 2, 2017 Hi, Luke and Abobader, Thanks for the response. You are correct. It's my fault. I found the mistakes now. The nfo files that I generated have some illegal symbol (&). So everything that come after the illegal symbol are not parsed by emby. I correct them. It works fine now. One more question. Is it possible to create a collection and add movies to collection by editing the moviefilename.nfo. For example by adding <collection>Collection1<\collection> in the nfo file? It seems I need to modify folders and xml files in 'C:\Users\Tulai\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server\data\collections' to do that. Correct me if I am wrong again.
