Show seekbar when using arrow keys to skip?

It seems you can skip with both the right keyboard arrow (or right button on the MCE remote) or using CTRL+Shift+F.  However, only the latter option shows the OSD/Seekbar when skipping.  Would it be possible to show the seekbar for the arrow key skips?  Ideally, it would be just the seekbar and not the entire OSD.  This would give the application a similar experience to WMC or Kodi.

I like how you can see a preview of the video on Roku using Netflix when skipping forward or backward. This, a full screen view of the FF and Rew video or something like that shown in WMC when using the >>| and |<< keys would be a nice feature to have.
