sprtfan 3 Posted February 6, 2014 Author Posted February 6, 2014 I installed Plex after I was having problems to give my wife a back up just incase the Mediabrowser Server closed while I was gone. Maybe the machine account is from it. I haven't had problems since changing the service from Manual to Disable but I won't really know until it runs for another day I'd guess. I changed it last night and it was still working this morning at least. Hopefully that will take care of it. I'll give and update tomorrow if it is still running. Thanks for the help.
sprtfan 3 Posted February 8, 2014 Author Posted February 8, 2014 I have been up and running for a two days now and I never would have made it that long before. I'm going to assume that changing the servce from Manual to Disable made a difference and I no longer have a problem. Thanks for all of the help.
NizZ8 3 Posted February 8, 2014 Posted February 8, 2014 Thanks for the post, i'm seeing similar issues where MB3 Server seems to crash every day or so. I went ahead and adjusted the service from manual --> Disabled. Hopefully this fix will work for me as well!
sprtfan 3 Posted February 14, 2014 Author Posted February 14, 2014 (edited) Only if you want to run it as a service. There are some drawbacks to that as you have to make sure the permissions are set properly and the service can't auto-update. Instead, try disabling the service. Also, look in all of your user accounts on the machine for a %appdata%\Mediabrowser-server directory. Based on your log, it really looks like you are starting it twice. @@Luke - how do you feel about using a global mutex to keep that from ever happening? This is what we did with the MB2 service and it worked well. I would assume it would be supported under Mono too. well, it has crashed on my the last few days again so I guess disabling the service did not fix my problem. I've attached the server and corresponding unhandled log. Let me know if any more info is needed. Luke 42077 Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 I think the next server release is going to help with this issue, so stay tuned.
