Ombi for Emby

!!!Ombi is being recognized as a device in Emby! I haven't reached my device limit yet but I have read threads lately with people saying that they are running into their device limit. This could be an issue.

Hi, I didn't know there was such a thing as a device limit, apologies as i'm new to Emby. Regarding this, I don't think there is anything I can do about that as all I am doing is calling the Emby Api.

I have Sonarr and CP integrated with the API and I don't see them as devices, I only get the notifications that "Sonarr - Episode Downloaded", etc.

The limit only applies to devices that require Emby Premiere so this will have no effect on Ombi.

There is no Emby integration with those programs...

@@SuperPotatoMen, please send any api feedback my way. I know that swagger has been down the last couple releases and is on my to do list to restore, but anything else you found difficult if you let me know about it I will take a look at making it easier. Since this is a web app our javascript api libraries can also help do a lot of the work for you:

Thanks.

Issues after install:

1. After a restart, Plex will re-enable itself under settings.  Note - You must fill out IP (0.0.0.0), Machine Identifier (random name), and Plex Authorization Token (random #) to be able to save the Plex config un-enabled/unchecked.

2. TV Shows already present show up as "pending approval" rather than "available" on Ombi search

3. Movies already requested (and approved) by another user show up as "Not Requested" in Ombi search

4. Scheduled jobs for Emby Availability Checker, Emby Content Cacher, Emby User Cacher, and Emby Episode Cacher all set to 0.   Restarting Ombi will reset them to 0 even if you change the settings.

Emby: Stable Version 3.1.5.0

Ombi: Early Access 2.1.1358

CouchPotato: Version 3.01

Sonarr: 2.0.0.4472 (1/1/2017)

Windows 8 x64 (latest updates)

Does it do home videos? like one user requesting another user to upload more videos featuring the dog?

It would seem to need a provider ID (TV or Movie search).  It also lets users report issues on current media (wrong audio, playback issues).

There is an issue with the Emby Content Cache scheduled task generating a lot of these errors that may need adjustment:

5:55:06 PM Provider Id on movie Jump Street Collection is null Ombi.Services.Jobs.EmbyContentCacher Error 2/1/2017

5:54:57 PM Provider Id on movie The Hobbit Collection is null Ombi.Services.Jobs.EmbyContentCacher Error 2/1/2017

5:54:55 PM Provider Id on movie 300 Collection is null Ombi.Services.Jobs.EmbyContentCacher Error 2/1/2017

5:54:54 PM Provider Id on movie Kick-Ass Collection is null Ombi.Services.Jobs.EmbyContentCacher Error 2/1/2017

5:54:54 PM Provider Id on movie The Chronicles of Narnia Collection is null Ombi.Services.Jobs.EmbyContentCacher Error 2/1/2017

@@tidusjar thanks for the direct response to my question regarding time frame. Completely understand the time constraints and was expecting longer before a stable version including the Emby feature would be available.

Already have had Sonarr setup and working for a fair while now, will setup Radarr and then take a look at Ombi after that :)

It does not sorry, when searching it looks up movies and tv shows using TheMovieDB/TVMaze and I highly doubt your home videos will be on there!

Can you please add this to Feathub? http://feathub.com/tidusjar/Ombi

That is correct, the Provider Id will either be IMDB or TheTVDBId.

That's interesting with your Emby Content Cacher. Due to these errors, it means that Ombi will not be able to detect if those movies are available. Is this happening with all Movies/Tv Shows or just a select few?

Technically they aren't available as they are Collections/Boxsets not actual Movies.

Oh your are right... TheMovieDB doesn't even return any results for them...

Ombi has been used in the wild for almost a year and no one has ever mentioned box set's before!

I'll need to do  some research around this to see what I can do...

TMDB is where Emby get their info from, actually they are created by there collectid pulled at Movie level <TMDbCollectionId>420</TMDbCollectionId>.

The Chronicles of Narnia Collection

The difficult ones would be custom collection created in Emby.  Like someone making a "Marvel Collection".

Ah that makes more sense, currently Ombi does not support searching on Collections. I could add this if you think it is beneficial? Can you add this to Featuhub? http://feathub.com/tidusjar/Ombi

To me I would think Collections would really fall outside the scope of a request system like this.  But that is just my thinking.

Yes, I would agree with H2P on this.

Collections/BoxSets will/can be created within Emby.

I did mention that about PLEX on GITTER yesterday :)

Thanks for raising the issue though.

You don't know, we could be famous... ;)

Seriously, this is a feature you might consider adding if, for nothing else, the avenue of legitimacy it provides but I think it would also be very useful.

It could even be a text based message system to the admin user as a way of getting general messages to them.

Examples:

"Can you get some more horror/film movies?"

"Can you upload some photos from Jim's birthday last weekend?"

"Everything is working great, thanks for doing this!"

"The app on my Xbox has been crashing a lot lately. Is there anything I can do to fix it?"

"Have you watched West World yet? You should, it's amazing"

Probably because Plex still doesn't properly support movie collections or box sets  :P

I've been testing movie requests today and in some cases I'm able to request movies already in my emby library while most of my movies appear as available when searching for them.

Any idea while some movies aren't recognized by Ombi as already available?

@@tidusjar

My problem might have something to do with the movie collection option emby offers. It seems that all the movies i have that are part of a collection in Emby aren't recognized in Ombi as already being available.

Guess I might need to start testing this myself.

@@Waseh as a test can you disable "Group movies into collections" and see if you get the same results.

Posted (edited)

Yea was just about to do that. :D
With collections turned off the movies are correctly displayed in Ombi as available so it does seem likely that collections are the culprit. :)

Edit: However turning collections back on didn't recreate the problem and the movies still show as available.

Turning off collections worked for me.  Hope that a future version can ignore collections and just indext the underlying movies.

Thanks for an awesome solution!
