Luke 42077 Posted January 29, 2017 Posted January 29, 2017 Yea you will probably find little quirks along those lines. We allow this type of configuration because there were a small and vocal set of users who wanted it. But due to it not being very common it doesn't get quite as much testing, and those kinds of little anomalies are bound to show up.
SilentStrike 1 Posted February 3, 2017 Author Posted February 3, 2017 Alright, so for the sake of... Being currently unsupported (Having a sub-folder being a different language), I simply took it out of there. Works like a charm now. As for the TV Episodes, any idea if files called "Episode 1.avi" will be recognized soon? Any luck on those tests? Thanks Luke, SilentStrike
Luke 42077 Posted February 3, 2017 Posted February 3, 2017 I will add that change into the testing branches after the next stable release. Thanks.
Happy2Play 9780 Posted February 3, 2017 Posted February 3, 2017 That naming scheme will require Season folders correct?
SilentStrike 1 Posted February 4, 2017 Author Posted February 4, 2017 Awesome. Seasons folder is what I was looking for. Sorry for all the questions... but.. How do I follow the progress of testing branches? I can easily find out where the stable release notes are when a new one comes out, but I have no idea where the test branch notes are. Mind pointing me in the right direction plz? (If you do have a local spot)
Happy2Play 9780 Posted February 4, 2017 Posted February 4, 2017 You can follow the release notes here or dev commits.
SilentStrike 1 Posted February 23, 2017 Author Posted February 23, 2017 Hey there, You wrote that you'd add this change to the testing branches after the next stable release which was basically 3.2.0.0 That being said, I'm trying to figure out how to gain access to the testing branches to test this and see if it works out (as I don't believe this'll come in a stable release soon?) Could you give me a bit of insight on how to proceed plz? Thanks
Luke 42077 Posted February 23, 2017 Posted February 23, 2017 Hi, check the download page of our website, and if beta builds are available for your operating system it will be listed there: https://emby.media/download.html Thanks.
SilentStrike 1 Posted February 23, 2017 Author Posted February 23, 2017 Is there an easy way to go from a stable release to a beta build? Do I have to reconfigure everything?
CharleyVarrick 283 Posted February 23, 2017 Posted February 23, 2017 I noticed above you setup language to French Canada (Salut en passant !) From my own trial and error experience with movies and tv show metadata providers, I resolved to switch to (plain) French.
Luke 42077 Posted February 23, 2017 Posted February 23, 2017 We generally don't 'recommend switching the same installation between release channels, but you can just install on top of your existing install. Please note, i haven't actually put the change into the beta yet, but that's ultimately where it will go first.
SilentStrike 1 Posted February 24, 2017 Author Posted February 24, 2017 Alright, I'll keep an eye out for the beta notes. Thanks for the info. Any idea what kind of "name" I should be looking for? Not entirely certain how you'll phrase it, so I don't know what to look for. Thanks again Luke! I noticed above you setup language to French Canada (Salut en passant !) From my own trial and error experience with movies and tv show metadata providers, I resolved to switch to (plain) French. Thanks for the info. I've come to realize that French Canada was pretty empty as well, so I switched to plain French myself. Merci pour l'info!
SilentStrike 1 Posted March 15, 2017 Author Posted March 15, 2017 This is in the beta version for testing. Awesome news! Let me give it a shot, and I'll keep you posted! Thanks Luke!
SilentStrike 1 Posted March 15, 2017 Author Posted March 15, 2017 (edited) Hey Luke, Been importing my library all night! So far, it seems to be working! It's just taking a lot of time, but that's ok. Once it's done, it's done! Already a great step Thanks! That being said, there seems to be an issue with multi-episodes. As you can see, multi-episodes (Episode 5-6) is immediately split into Season 5 Episode 6 while it should be considered as Episode 5 Episode 6. I don't know if there's anything you can do about this part? Edited March 15, 2017 by SilentStrike
SilentStrike 1 Posted March 15, 2017 Author Posted March 15, 2017 Another issue I encountered is if I have a tripple digit Episode #. It splits it to try and get the Season #. This is rare, but can still happen.
Luke 42077 Posted March 15, 2017 Posted March 15, 2017 These are not issues, these are clashes with supported naming conventions. For these situations you need to use a supported naming convention, I am sorry. I can't make changes for these without breaking other scenarios. So in the first example you could use 1x05-x06 Or any of other other multi-episode naming conventions. In the second example, you could use 1x42 Or any of our other naming conventions. Or, you could leave the file names alone and just use the Emby editor and persist the overrides in nfo files.
SilentStrike 1 Posted March 15, 2017 Author Posted March 15, 2017 Thanks for the info about multi-episode. How to I change 1 file in the metadata manager to say "Hey, this is 2 episodes" ? In the second example, you could use 1x42 Or any of our other naming conventions. Or, you could leave the file names alone and just use the Emby editor and persist the overrides in nfo files. Concerning this example, that would output Season 1, Episode 42. What I'm aiming for here, is Season 0 Episode 142. Yet it parsed Episode 142 as Season and Episode due to the fact it was a 3-digit episode. I'm assuming you can't do anything about this part? (If you can, how could I rename my files for this?) I'm still wondering whether I'll rename those files, or I'll use the metadata manager. But not having to edit 7,000 but maybe 100 is a huge win for me! Thanks again! That being said, my library scan crashed after 11 hours of scanning. I tried scanning again and it crashed again. I'm not home, so I can't access the physical logs (Stream too long, so can't open in web page), but when I do get there, I'll send them over.

Everything looks good Luke! Thanks again!
CharleyVarrick 283 Posted March 20, 2017 Posted March 20, 2017 (edited) I just noticed your French content is (or was) included within English content Here, I have it setup as: "My Videos\Movies" and "My Videos\Films" (2 different branches, former for eng. and later for fr.) SilentStrike 1 Posted March 20, 2017 Author Posted March 20, 2017 I just noticed your French content is (or was) included within English content Here, I have it setup as: "My Videos\Movies" and "My Videos\Films" (2 different branches, former for eng. and later for fr.) I actually had that discussion with Luke throughout.. Having one folder in another ruined the scrapping, so I had to seperate them. I did like you, and simply added a French movie folder outside my English movie folder. Thanks for taking notice though! Could have been useful!
