mythofechelon 35 Posted January 28, 2017 Posted January 28, 2017 (edited) Since the update of Emby Server to version 3.1.5.0, playback of any video freezes on the first frame when using Google Chrome version 56.0.2924.76 (latest) on a Windows 10 PC but not when using Microsoft Edge on the same Windows 10 PC or when using Google Chrome version 55.0.2883.87 or 56.0.2924.76 (latest) on Windows Server 2016 Standard (Emby Server). Please advise? Thanks. Edited January 28, 2017 by mythofechelon

Luke 42077 Posted January 28, 2017 Posted January 28, 2017 Hi there @@mythofechelon, we're very sorry to hear about your issue. In order for us to best help you, please provide the information requested in how to report a media playback issue. thanks !
Happy2Play 9780 Posted January 28, 2017 Posted January 28, 2017 To me it looks like Emby is presenting the Thumb and waiting on transcoded media. Also how long did you wait?
mythofechelon 35 Posted January 28, 2017 Author Posted January 28, 2017 (edited) @@Luke As advised, I've recreated the problem and attached the logs (file "server-63621204017.txt"). @@Happy2Play I've waited a few minutes and nothing has happened but I have no problem streaming using other browsers / apps and devices. Thanks. server-63621204017.txt Edited January 28, 2017 by mythofechelon
mythofechelon 35 Posted January 29, 2017 Author Posted January 29, 2017 Yes, music plays fine. Thanks.
PenkethBoy 2068 Posted January 29, 2017 Posted January 29, 2017 (edited) for reference - 3.1.5 and chrome 56.x(64 bit) - videos play fine for me - win 10 pro (64 bit) Edited January 29, 2017 by PenkethBoy
Luke 42077 Posted January 29, 2017 Posted January 29, 2017 I think it is just missing the play button for devices that don't allow video autoplay.
mythofechelon 35 Posted January 29, 2017 Author Posted January 29, 2017 @@Luke I don't understand. It's obviously not a problem with Google Chrome or my PC.
Luke 42077 Posted January 29, 2017 Posted January 29, 2017 because PC's allow video autoplay, tablets don't, so we have to make sure the video play button is there for you to click after you click the emby play button.
mythofechelon 35 Posted January 30, 2017 Author Posted January 30, 2017 @@Luke I still don't understand. I'm using a desktop PC, not a tablet.
Luke 42077 Posted January 30, 2017 Posted January 30, 2017 Regardless, it must not be allowing auto pay for whatever reason.
Solution mythofechelon 35 Posted January 30, 2017 Author Solution Posted January 30, 2017 Oh. I just figured it out. I completely forgot that I had the Google Chrome extension "Disable HTML5 Autoplay" installed (for use with YouTube). I guess the new video player uses HTML5? I'm so sorry for wasting everyone's time! 1
