nfmmalice 0 Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 So, I j ust installed MB3, and I'm trying to set it up to find my library, to no avail. I have all of my Movies on an Acer EasyStore Server connected to the network. When setting up the path to the Movies, I labelled it "movies" then clicked on "media locations". It will navigate to the \\Server name, but will not find any subfolders. It only displays the ".." return to previous. I tried Manually typing in the \\Server\videos main folder directory, but it says "path does not exist". I tried Manually typing in the \\Server\Videos\Movies Subfolder directory (where all the movies are stored) and it comes back with a "Logon Failure: Unknown User Name or Bad Password" error. I cannot find a way to Enter User Name/Password. Any ideas?
ebr 16169 Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 There is no way to provide credentials other than through Windows itself. You can either grant access to "Everyone" or you can create a user on the file server with the same name and pw as the Windows user on the MB Server machine.
Dibbes 514 Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 It seems that the MB server is passing some sort of credentials though. I have the same issue as nfmmalice below with a library on a Seagate blackarmor NAS. The share folders on the NAS are mapped as drives under windows, but for some strange reason MB server doesn't pass on Windows Creds, but the username that's created as part of the MB Server setup.

OKay, I have the Same User Account Information (name and Password) in Windows and in the EasyShare. I have tried multiple times to access the Network, but cannot get it to "see" anything beyond the netowrk location. I have tried the various walkthroughs on how to set up permissions... But none of the PIctures seem to coincide with what I'm seeing. I do not see a "share" tab on my folders, but rather a "Security" tab in its place. I cant get much further in the walkthroughs, as none of the steps match what I am seeing. Frustrating.
nfmmalice 0 Posted February 2, 2014 Author Posted February 2, 2014 I even tried Mapping that Location as a Network Drive (Z:) But it doesn't appear in MB3 either.

Are you, by any chance, running MB3 as a service? If so, change the MB3 service user and password to the account you are currently using and you should see the z: drive and the network shares you authenticated(and saved the password) via explorer.
