deanylev 7 Posted January 26, 2017 Posted January 26, 2017 When I restart Emby, it'll shutdown, but won't start again unless I do it manually. Attached are my logs. server-63621047619.txt
deanylev 7 Posted January 26, 2017 Author Posted January 26, 2017 Hi, what log is this? Just the latest in my logs folder. Is there a more appropriate one I should attach?
Happy2Play 9780 Posted January 26, 2017 Posted January 26, 2017 Just the latest in my logs folder. Is there a more appropriate one I should attach? There is no restart or shutdown process in that log.
deanylev 7 Posted January 27, 2017 Author Posted January 27, 2017 There is no restart or shutdown process in that log. Ah, thought that might be the case, sorry about that guys! Where would I find the log that does contain those?
Happy2Play 9780 Posted January 27, 2017 Posted January 27, 2017 The same place you got that log. Its just that log doesn't show your issue. But there are dozens of post on this topic. Some machines don't release the server process fast enough during the restart process and is unable to recover. I have had to wait up to 5 minutes for the process to die. But this issues has improved over time.

Luke 42078 Posted January 27, 2017 Posted January 27, 2017 Yes please provide a log from shutting down, thanks.
rs1024 0 Posted January 27, 2017 Posted January 27, 2017 Just had this problem as well on Windows 7 Pro x64. Updating Emby, then Java , then windows, then restarting the system has worked for me so far. My HTPC stays on 24/7 (unless I'm doing maintenance) and during the day Emby just closed on it's own. I started Emby again and saw there was an update and went ahead and installed it then restarted Emby. It stayed opened for approx 30-45 seconds and closed again on it's own. Started it again....same thing. At this point I also realized that I had a Java update notice as well and so I went ahead and installed that and windows updates (only had 2) then I restarted the system. Emby hasn't crashed yet.
