econ 74 Posted January 21, 2017 Posted January 21, 2017 When playing music using the beta app go to search and attempt type a title. The search will place random spaces in the search box. Search functions correctly when not playing music.
econ 74 Posted January 21, 2017 Author Posted January 21, 2017 Also, it doesn't look like you can search for albums or artists. I get a spinning circle where the artist/album should be and you can't click on it.

I get a spinning circle where the artist/album should be and you can't click on it. My album and artist searches are working just fine. Can you please post a server log when you do this. Also, be sure you wait at least 30-40 seconds.
econ 74 Posted January 22, 2017 Author Posted January 22, 2017 Will post logs once back at a pc. It also looks as if tv shows are being returned in the search under artists and albums. I've let the search sit for 5 min without any music results.
econ 74 Posted January 22, 2017 Author Posted January 22, 2017 Log attached. Also, from a usability perspective in the search -- currently after entering your search term in order to select the item in the results you have to press the back button on the roku remote. Can we simply make it so that you can arrow over to it? Log.txt
ebr 16174 Posted January 22, 2017 Posted January 22, 2017 Okay, thanks. You were testing at the top level and I was testing in the music library. Plus it was only an issue on subsequent searches (not the initial one). In any case, I found it and should be fixed for next beta. Thanks for the report.
econ 74 Posted January 22, 2017 Author Posted January 22, 2017 Random spaces when music is playing is fixed. I can now search for artists and albums and the results show as expected. However, when I click on an artist it returns a page with only the artist logo. Their albums are not listed for play. If I search for and click an album I can click and play the album as expected.

I think you must have multiple artists coming back. I have a few like this where there will be two versions of the same one and one will have the albums (and bio) and the other won't. I think this is a data issue but haven't really investigated yet. BTW - you also should be able to exit the OSK with the left arrow now...

BTW - you also should be able to exit the OSK with the left arrow now... I can confirm you can now exit with the left arrow. However, it you are typing fast and accidentally arrow out of the search it isn't intuitive on how to bring back the keyboard. I stumbled on it by scrolling all the way to the top. Can you put some kind of indicator around the search term (right after "Search for:" in the upper left of the screen? Or possibly bring up the keyboard with *?
ebr 16174 Posted January 29, 2017 Posted January 29, 2017 We can probably bring up the keyboard with '*' as well but, the search term is displayed at the top so it seems intuitive to me that you would scroll back up to that term to modify it. That is why it behaves that way.
