I had the same folder listed twice and it caused the media scan to fail.
AdrianW 1058 Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 (edited) Same thing has started happening to me - here's a full log: http://paste2.org/KYU4mwHe Get this text in the notification area: Scan media library failed 2 minutes ago Item has no name Edited January 31, 2014 by AdrianW
Jdiesel 1431 Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 I would try re-adding your media folders. It worked for me when I was having scanning issues. One of the links in "C:\Users\****\AppData\Roaming\MediaBrowser-Server\root" might be corrupt.
ebr 16169 Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 Thanks for reporting this. I'm sure we'll chase it down. As we said earlier in the week - the dev versions are very likely to be even more unstable than usual so I would suggest you go to beta. 1
Koleckai Silvestri 1154 Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 I had to remove some empty folders and all music from my library to get it to complete.
AdrianW 1058 Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 The most recent update to MBS (3.0.5144.26879) must have added more verbose errors, as I received this when scanning failed this time: BoxSet has no name: \\KIYONE\Video\New Releases\Evil Dead Collection [boxset] I use metabrowser for all my metadata - and it turned out that the boxset metadata was called "folder.xml" - I re-fetched and saved the metadata for each of my boxsets (in metabrowser) and it renamed the files to "collection.xml". And this time scanning completed.
gillmacca 17 Posted February 2, 2014 Author Posted February 2, 2014 In my case it was the fact that I had moved a TV show to another hard drive on the network, but before it could finish transferring, MB created new xml/backdrop. etc in the old location, so MBS was seeing the TV Show in 2 seperate locations
