NemesisZeRo 7 Posted January 19, 2017 Posted January 19, 2017 Hi! I've added a whole DVD rip, without any convertion, just plain video_ts files. However in emby app and thru the web they are not identified with a name, so I can't see which is which But as seen in the following screenshot, they are named in VLC. So why isn't emby naming them correctly..?
Luke 42083 Posted January 19, 2017 Posted January 19, 2017 Can you show a screenshot of the media info from the web app? thanks.
NemesisZeRo 7 Posted January 19, 2017 Author Posted January 19, 2017 Is this what you are referring at?
NemesisZeRo 7 Posted January 19, 2017 Author Posted January 19, 2017 Of course, sorry, don't use the browser so much.
Luke 42083 Posted January 19, 2017 Posted January 19, 2017 Ok, it's because the language is unknown. I'll have it show Und in this case. thanks.
funwithmedia 373 Posted January 20, 2017 Posted January 20, 2017 If you're going the whole DVD route (full VIDEO_TS folder rip), which I'm also a fan of, I highly recommend setting up VLC as an External Player in Emby Theater. Then you'll get all the functionality of VLC for this type of format. If you need help for how to do this have a look through some of my recent posts, or write back with any issues you run into.

Thx, but we mostly use it in android or standard TV.VLC is however the best for the rest.. Edited January 20, 2017 by NemesisZeRo
Luke 42083 Posted January 20, 2017 Posted January 20, 2017 @@NemesisZeRo, our support for transcoding folder rips is considered experimental, because ffmpeg does not natively support them. What this means is that you get full playback support in HTPC apps such as Emby for WMC, Emby for Kodi, etc. And you get experimental playback support in apps that require transcoding such as the web app, chromecast, roku, etc.
