Sergio 4 Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 I'm now converting my old DVDs and a doubt has assaulted me. The top and bottom bands, should I cut them or leave the video with them? Removing them makes the video files slightly small but it changes the aspect ratio. Will emby/apps correctly handle the aspect ratio after the bands are removed? Or, when the band are there, will emby detect them and cut/ignore if the film adapts to the tv screen? 1
Guest asrequested Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 Are they actually part of the picture, or just padding?
Koleckai Silvestri 1154 Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 I leave the letter box to maintain the proper video aspect. Removing them will cause devices to stretch the video and cause display problems. 1
Sergio 4 Posted January 18, 2017 Author Posted January 18, 2017 They are original ripped dvd files, so they are part of the picture and can be cropped.
Guest asrequested Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 The DVDs that I've ripped just had padding, and the software I used to rip the disc, ripped without embedding the padding.
Deathsquirrel 745 Posted January 19, 2017 Posted January 19, 2017 Crop them. They will scale correctly.
Sergio 4 Posted February 1, 2017 Author Posted February 1, 2017 Thanks guys. I finally cropped them and all went good. Enviado desde mi A0001 mediante Tapatalk
