Spyderturbo007 19 Posted January 17, 2017 Posted January 17, 2017 (edited) I'm trying to get a handle on how Emby Server handles images (Backdrop, Disk, Thumb, etc). Previously, I used a different program that would add the images to the individual movie folders. My assumption is that I no longer need those files? Would they cause an issue with Emby depending on how I have my images configured. For example, would Emby ever try and replace its images with the ones from the folders? I only ask, because I swear I changed some of the backdrops only to find them back to where they were before. I could be wrong though. What files do I need in the movie folders? Here is an example of the current folder structure: Edited January 17, 2017 by Spyderturbo007
Luke 42085 Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 Hi, you can leave your existing files there, unless you want to delete them. But leaving them won't do any harm with Emby. if the backdrop thing comes up again then let's go over a specific example. thanks !
Spyderturbo007 19 Posted January 29, 2017 Author Posted January 29, 2017 (edited) Can you help me determine where my Emby for Kodi installation is getting its trailers? I'd like to make sure it's pulling my local trailers, but I have no clue where to find that information. Each trailer is in the specific movie folder, but I don't think it conforms to the Emby naming convention. For example, for the move Star Wars, my trailer is named movie-trailer.mkv, as opposed to Star Wars-trailer.mkv. I'm just wondering how it actually works. Also, does anyone know of a program that would automate the renaming of 600 movie trailers? I really don't want to go through and do it manually. Something that might pull the folder name and substitute it at the beginning of the trailer filename? Edited January 29, 2017 by Spyderturbo007
Spyderturbo007 19 Posted January 29, 2017 Author Posted January 29, 2017 I'm not experiencing any problems. I'm just asking how I determine where Emby is pulling the trailers for the movies.
Happy2Play 9785 Posted January 29, 2017 Posted January 29, 2017 Emby got trailers a long time ago, but no longer does. If you are still getting local trailers they are coming from another program, not Emby.
