skank 85 Posted January 17, 2017 Posted January 17, 2017 Hi, I currently have too many boxes running. I would love to have one or max 2 boxes for everything. I have a server running with movies and emby server - i have android mediaplayer with kodi (using kodi emby app) in 3 places (including living room) - i have a ps4 in living room - have a tv digicorder in living room (cant get rid of this) - i have a netflix account and want 1080p on tv (my android boxes cant do this) How or what should i do to enjoy emby in living room on 1 device, with netflix 1080 and if possible ps4 My tv now, cant run netflx which is a pity If i would get a new android tv, would i be able to watch all emby movies, netflix? a new tv isnt an option for now though any suggestions?
mastrmind11 722 Posted January 17, 2017 Posted January 17, 2017 If you have the $, get a Shield. If you want a pretty capable box for half the price, get a Mi Box.
legallink 187 Posted January 17, 2017 Posted January 17, 2017 I'm a little confused. Can't you watch it all on the ps4? If not, I think the firetv is a much beloved device. Shields are pricey. You won't get a device that also runs your Ps4 Only thing that does that is a receiver. Do you have a problem because of hdmi ports? Or is there another issue? I run an Apple TV and really enjoy it but it doesn't have live tv yet.
Luke 42078 Posted January 17, 2017 Posted January 17, 2017 Hi @@skank, if you're having an issue, please make sure to see how to report a media playback issue. thanks !
jasonmcroy 316 Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 If money isn't a problem then I vote for the Nvidia Shield TV device. I have the Pro version in my living room and the 16gb version upstairs in the bedroom. The Emby App runs really well, Netflix in 1080p. I started out with a Roku, then went to a Fire TV box and then a Nexus Player. Since getting the Shields I have retired all the other devices. The only other box in my Living Room now is my Xbox One. It's pricey, but in my opinion it's worth it.
