Error code: null. i think here is the relevant stuff. granted i manufactured the error, but given that it found the series, and it had metadata and i told it what season and episode it was it should of worked. it did work when i manually made the folder, and manually renamed and sorted the files. Luke 42078 Posted January 27, 2017 Posted January 27, 2017 Ok, in that situation above, the episode does not exist on the highest priority tv provider (tvdb by default). Or perhaps it exists but we just couldn't match it up. Either way, currently, if we can't find internet metadata then we don't perform the organize, although @@softworkz, perhaps in this situation when used manually in the organize dialog it should be allowed.

It just randomly reassigns already existing episodes with metadata downloaded to new series that I do not even have on my PC, nor I have heard of them... In particular it does it with two episodes of Supernatural, but today it decided that Season two of Game of Thrones was now a new series called Two (when I opened GoT Season 2 in emby, it was empty), then it did the same with season three... Re-scanning the library fixed it, but thats not a permanent fix, sadly (I'm dealing with the Supernatural problem for months now)... softworkz 5066 Posted January 29, 2017 Posted January 29, 2017 Ok, in that situation above, the episode does not exist on the highest priority tv provider (tvdb by default). Or perhaps it exists but we just couldn't match it up. Either way, currently, if we can't find internet metadata then we don't perform the organize, although @@softworkz, perhaps in this situation when used manually in the organize dialog it should be allowed. This can screw the local episode organization in a number of different ways. It starts with naming: Auto-Organize does not only copy/move the files, it also applies certain naming rules, e.g. including the episode title in the filename. What should happen now, when the episode title is unknown because it couldn't be retrieved from the metadata providers? Even if we fallback to some generic name, there are more problems: The experience will be poor without metadata. If metadata would be available at a later time, filenames would be conflicting. Even if that may not sound extremely bad from the point of view where you want to organize something in a way that contradicts the available metadata - we should consider the other side: Once we allow this, all users would be able to perform incorrect organization, and allow them to screw their library. Those aspects need to be outweighed against each other. Currently - considering the availability of metadata for TV series - I think that those cases where you have episodes for which no metadata is available are extremely rare. At least by far more rare than those situations, where there are discrepancies in episode/season numberings. So, in the vast majority of cases with episode numbering problems, it's all about finding out under which episode/season numbers a certain episode is classified by the metadata services. Once you do that, you'll get a reliable experience with Emby, but if we would allow organizing with "alternate" episode/season numbers, it would pave the way to chaos in the users' libraries. This could be kind of like opening Pandora's box. When we are even afraid of adding movie organization - which is pretty straightforward and trivial, which only acts on manual user request and which is very unlikely to do something unexpected - then we should not even think about allowing this. There's a high risk for problems and a low value. An alternative remedy for most of those remaining situations and at the same time a great and important feature would be the ability for individual selection of metadata providers (or at least one "Primary Provider") for library items like movies or TV series. This selection could also be offered in the Auto-Organize dialog: If the primary metadata provider does not have the appropriate metadata, you could simply try another provider and choose to use it for that specific series. This is a much better solution IMO than allowing the user to enter invalid episode or season numbers.

I fully understood that and I'm aware that the "much better solution" I suggested does not cover all cases. I still think that we should not allow organization for episodes for which we don't find metadata (but we should at least allow trying multiple providers). But now I've examined the user's reported situation a bit more and found that we're dealing with a different problem here: Sometimes we are querying metadata providers by name - even if we had a suitable provider ID. In this case this is what's happening. While querying by name will often work as well, there's some special problem in this case, @MiChAeLoKGB: The English name of the series is "Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions" What you're having - "G:\TV Shows 3\Chuunibyou (2012) " - seems to be a part of the of the original title but it is not recognized as title alone. What exactly do you mean by renaming them (as you are using series name from @@codenamegamma error log)? All my folder names are ok and it worked without any problems for some time... You can see my naming on screenshot attached (the directory is "F:\Seriály\Game of thrones", the "Seriály" means "Shows/TV Series"), yet EMBY still keeps trying to make Season 2 and Season 3 folders into their own TV Series. The real-time monitoring seems to be broken for shows. It does work for episodes for shows, which are already in my library. But completely new shows aren't monitored and added correctly. Please take a look at the attached log. I've added "Better Call Saul" and it's not added to Emby. It does something, but the adding progress is not going to be completed: no nfo, no thumbs, no artworks, no entry in my library, but I get browser popups with "new episode xyz". log.txt Edited May 5, 2017 by sualfred

This is where the auto organize feature took care of the input folder. It creates the series folder on the destination drive and moves the episodes correctly. I guess the problem is on the real-time monitoring side. It doesn't matter if I'll use the auto organizer or if I'll move the show (with episodes) manually -> Same result. Just create a new show folder and insert a dummy episode. After a few moments you will receive the new episode popup but no metadata files are going to be created and it won't be listed in the library. I also downgraded to mono 4.6 to be sure it's not caused by the newer version, but it always can be reproduced. sualfred 677 Posted May 5, 2017 Posted May 5, 2017 Is there a season folder? Jep. As I said. The organizer creates the show folder, the season folder and moves the renamed episodes to the season folder. But as soon as the real-time monitor kicks it, it only notifies my about new episodes but the show is not visible in my library and no artworks or .nfo files are stored next to the episodes or in the tvshow/season folder. It seems that library adding process is not completed somewhere.
