Emby docker missing links and hanging server

I posted on relevant forums over on  unraid support but suggested might be an issue with emby itself.

 

Been few weeks my emby stopped working and i've attempted to reinstall it from scratch but facing two issues.

 

After setup Images and media missing although some random info is in there i.e one or two shows.

There also another setting on my media called folders and inside it duplicates TV shows and movies folders and has all the shows minus images but inside the actual season folders/ movie is blank and i can't play anything.

After this runs for a while it seems to hang the whole system and only way to bring it back is a reboot.

You would need to post a server log.  Has an initial library scan finished?

 

The "Folders" view is an optional setting

If enabled, Emby apps will display a Folders category alongside your media library. This is useful if you'd like to have plain folder views.

THe intial libary scan finished but i was unaware folder was added.

 

Unorftunaly something causing Emby to hang so i don't know if it's the complete log

Just to update before i used path substitution to link my media on the unraid but I can't find the settings for this. I also saved the metadata in the respective folders but it seems Emby having trouble reading it but even though i refresh the media folders under the metadata manager it still not picking everything up just random files and shows. I'm not sure if it's because it hasn't finished refreshing which I can't see anywhere to track or it's just doing a few shows.

Path substitution has been moved so that you configure it right at the point of setting up the library.

Oh ok.

It's picking up the files when i point to them but not loading any metadata and when i refresh it's a select few. Would This be what's causing the crashes?

Ok so i'm assuming (Optional) Shared network folder: is path substitution.

I've gone back to check my libary settings and they are as follows;

Folder:

/mnt/user/Tv Shows

(Optional) Shared network folder:

\\192.168.1.172\Tv Shows

Download artwork and metadata from the internet

It's only picking up 30 out 67 shows and same with anime only picking up 21/25

 

Nothing changed in my folder structure or unraid except emby update and fresh install doesn't fix it.

 

I added new folder to see what's happening but only 1 item been picked up with no ifnormation.

 

I went back into metadae manager refresh that one file and it now showing up images and dnd files but now another item has popped up with nothing in it.

This is just the server trying to talk to dlna devices on your network. Nothing really to worry about here.

Thanks for the reply. I might be grasping at straws but that's only error information i've seen in the log. I've asked in unraid forums but they've said docker works fine so must be Emby itself.

When I add the folder to the library I used the above settings under Home/My media/ Tv It's only showing 30 shows out of the 67 in the folder. If i go in the Metadata manager click on the show and refresh replace all metadata it show up. If I refresh the TV show folder nothing comes up. I never had this problem before as all the metadata is in the respective folders so shouldn't it just pick up the shows?

Also if i leave the Emby server on my Unraid server crashes.

Lastly I've noticed freezes during place back where i have either had to refresh the page or restart the docker.

 

My Emby was working fine up till one update  where just happened to break.

 

The main issue right now is why is it freezing the whole system as the only way to recover is a hard reboot which doesn't bode well for the HDDs

After you added the library did you wait for the library scan to finish? As far as the freezing goes, please attach a complete Emby Server log from when this happens. thanks !

Yes this is after the scan and restarting the server + scan.

What you can try to do is go into the Dlna menu in the server dashboard and disable both the Play To feature and the Dlna server feature. See if that makes a difference. Thanks.

Ok so i did what you suggested and added 2gb ram to server as well running the library scan manually and all seems good so far.

I did see "Got a SIGABRT while executing native code. This usually indicates a fatal error in the mono runtime" error in the docker log any idea what that means?

EDit: ok so it was working great for most of the day then i switched pc constantly freezing during playback
