hjason7812 34 Posted January 14, 2017 Posted January 14, 2017 Hello, i was wondering if someone could make a vudu plugin for the server? I have lots of videos on vudu i can watch but nothing has an app to view them with.. Thanks 1
Luke 42077 Posted January 14, 2017 Posted January 14, 2017 Hi, do they have an open API? I am guessing they do not. Their contracts with the movie studios probably do not allow that. Just my guess at least.
hjason7812 34 Posted January 14, 2017 Author Posted January 14, 2017 i have no idea, i know walmart owns vudu. phones have vudu apps though.
hjason7812 34 Posted January 14, 2017 Author Posted January 14, 2017 hmm, there's gotta be a way to build a working app..
hjason7812 34 Posted January 14, 2017 Author Posted January 14, 2017 they must not care about their customers with all the ultrviolet movies etc.
Luke 42077 Posted January 14, 2017 Posted January 14, 2017 they must not care about their customers with all the ultrviolet movies etc. Like I said earlier, most likely it is the movie studios that would never allow Vudu to open up the content to other apps.
hjason7812 34 Posted January 14, 2017 Author Posted January 14, 2017 it used to be open to every platform. until they were hacked. then they closed it off to everything except consoles and phones.
Luke 42077 Posted January 14, 2017 Posted January 14, 2017 What you could do instead is use Emby Live TV and DVR to legally record your own movies and watch them within Emby.
hjason7812 34 Posted January 14, 2017 Author Posted January 14, 2017 i don't have a tuner card or cable. that's why I'm trying to get all the apps i can that has videos online..
funwithmedia 373 Posted January 17, 2017 Posted January 17, 2017 Vudu had an API at one point, I believe, but last I checked it was no longer available. But if at some point they provide an API again I too would love to see some sort of Emby Server and Emby Theater connection. Since Vudu is primarily built on UltraViolet, here is a relevant site with details on UV: http://www.uvdemystified.com/uvfaq.html
