techworld 3 Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 (edited) Hi guys, I used to have an iPhone 5S, and I can played the media fine with cellular data. But now, I'm not sure the new phone or Emby's settings is the culprit. I've tried Emby app, Emby Connect, and my URL, but none of the audio or videos (mp4) play. It keep spinning circle next to the LTE icon. If I play it on my home Wifi, I don't have any issue. Any idea? Edited January 12, 2017 by techworld
techworld 3 Posted January 13, 2017 Author Posted January 13, 2017 (edited) See the attachment. FYI: I can streaming Youtube videos fine. Edit: When I play the mp3 or video, I have to wait about 3-4 mins for it to play. EMBY logs.txt Edited January 13, 2017 by techworld
Luke 42080 Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 As a test, can you please try plain http? thanks.
techworld 3 Posted January 13, 2017 Author Posted January 13, 2017 I did a test today at my workplace. On iPhone Emby app: With/Without Wifi= mp3, videos can't play. With URL: With/without Wifi = mp3, videos can't play. With/Without SSL = mp3, videos can't play. -------------------------------------------------- On Laptop: with HTTP = audio played, videos stuttered. with HTTPS = audio played, videos stuttered. ------------------------------------------- At home with Wifi: No issue.
Luke 42080 Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 Can we see the same logs without ssl? thanks.
techworld 3 Posted January 13, 2017 Author Posted January 13, 2017 (edited) Please see the attachment. I had ffmpeg installed. ffmpeg 7:3.2.2-1~bpo8+1 Is this the correct version for Debian Jessie? emby_http_1.txt emby_http_2.txt emby_http_3.txt emby_http_4.txt emby_http_5.txt Edited January 14, 2017 by techworld
techworld 3 Posted January 14, 2017 Author Posted January 14, 2017 (edited) Hi, I installed Emby manually in OMV. ffmpeg is located at: /usr/bin/ffmpeg /usr/share/ffmpeg /usr/share/man/man1/ffmpeg.1.gz ls -la /usr/bin/ffmpeg -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 268616 Dec 23 11:27 /usr/bin/ffmpeg Do I need to symlink emby's ffmpeg folder to /usr/bin/ffmpeg? :/var/lib/emby-server$ ls -la total 68 drwxr-xr-x 15 emby emby 4096 Jan 1 19:53 . drwxr-xr-x 54 root root 4096 Jan 1 12:20 .. drwxr-xr-x 6 emby emby 4096 Jan 14 11:24 cache drwxr-xr-x 4 emby emby 4096 Jan 14 15:55 config drwxr-xr-x 3 emby emby 4096 Nov 19 16:18 .config drwxr-xr-x 7 emby emby 4096 Jan 14 16:00 data drwxr-xr-x 3 emby emby 4096 Nov 19 16:13 ffmpeg drwxrwxr-x 2 emby emby 4096 Jan 1 19:53 fonts drwxr-xr-x 2 emby emby 4096 Dec 28 17:33 localization drwxr-xr-x 2 emby emby 4096 Jan 14 16:00 logs drwxr-xr-x 6 emby emby 4096 Nov 24 17:00 metadata drwxr-xr-x 2 emby emby 4096 Nov 19 23:26 plugins drwxr-xr-x 3 emby emby 4096 Nov 19 16:14 root drwxr-xr-x 2 emby emby 4096 Jan 4 18:19 ssl drwxr-xr-x 2 emby emby 12288 Jan 14 11:14 transcoding-temp Edited January 14, 2017 by techworld
Happy2Play 9781 Posted January 14, 2017 Posted January 14, 2017 (edited) That is for Intros not FFMPEG you need to look a Trascoding (FFmpeg path:) not Playback-Cinema Mode. Edited January 14, 2017 by Happy2Play
techworld 3 Posted January 14, 2017 Author Posted January 14, 2017 So I need to put /usr/bin/ffmpeg in Transcoding Temporary path?
Luke 42080 Posted January 14, 2017 Posted January 14, 2017 Why don't we help each other at the same time. Can you please read the help text under the input fields and explain why you thought you'd want to put the executable path to ffmpeg in that field?
Happy2Play 9781 Posted January 14, 2017 Posted January 14, 2017 I don't think your OS server version has this option if I remember correctly from other topics.
techworld 3 Posted January 14, 2017 Author Posted January 14, 2017 (edited) Ok. Do you think the ffmepg has to do with my playback files? OMV's emby plugin currently not working, so we installed it manually: https://software.opensuse.org/download.html?project=home%3Aemby&package=emby-server I just re-generated the pfx key, and I notice that whether I use http or https from my URL, some videos can play if it's transcoding. It stop as soon as I changed the quality to 'Direct' or '10Mbps' or lower. It's displaying: transcoding, 413kbps ts h264aac This is what I have. Edited January 15, 2017 by techworld
techworld 3 Posted January 18, 2017 Author Posted January 18, 2017 (edited) I just create a new share folder with root:users permission, and un-installed Emby, and re-installed Emby, but error persist. I notice that the ffmpeg subfolder is not in emby installation folder. There are: ffmpeg, ffprobe in my old Emby version last year. The fresh installation didn't ask me for the ffmepg path. Is this normal? Edited January 19, 2017 by techworld

My log updating to the new beta has 291 of those errors. As for first one, do you have "automatic port mapping" enabled? Dashboard-Advanced-Hosting Yes. I re-installed Emby last night, and it doesn't ask me for the ffmepg path or path is available in the admin gui. I created a new share folder with root:users, 2755 permissions. But I can't still get the media files to play remotely. I'm stuck.
techworld 3 Posted January 21, 2017 Author Posted January 21, 2017 I tried with that too. Do I need to disable "report as an external https" ?
techworld 3 Posted January 21, 2017 Author Posted January 21, 2017 (edited) I tested on http/https on URL, emby connect, and emby app. Disabled 'report https as external address'. Still not working. Don't know if it's my router's update from last December or something else. Plex, Emby can't play media files remotely. log_1.txt log 2.txt log 3.txt log 4.txt Edited January 21, 2017 by techworld
