Missing everything after moving a portable installation.

Now in confused, portable, should it not be moved?

I first used emby on my gaming computer, and everything worked.

I decided then to reinstall windows so the server would get the computer for it self.

I copied the portable folder,( with the app closed), and reinstalled windows.

But now when I'm accessing it, it's empty, no movies, no metadata..

All settings, all users and everything is there.

I tried to press the scan library, it ran for a few seconds and then it was finished..

https://Dropbox.gr1.se/log.txt (log)

If I for example opens the meta manager, it's just "loading", but nothing happens

I'm attaching screenshots of the server, and how it looks, I mean, everything (configuration)is as it was, but as you see, there are no information.

The only major difference between now and before, is that it was a messy system, and the computer/username was different (I searched the folder containing the data(inside the files) for the old path names, to see if it had anything to do with that, but it wasn't found ..

Did you perform a Library scan?  I don't see one performed in the log.

I performed it before this log, I'll make a new log and do a new scan in it..

I have to find the post but you can't move the installed version.  The portable version allows you to basically install/put Emby an a location of your choice.

I'm using a standalone version, everything (except the movies) in one directory

Little confused.

So you got the portable version from the download page and unzipped the system folder and put it in "C:\Users\Oberon\Desktop\mediaserver\"?

As the other post stated the configs aren't really portable.  I will test more on moving this directory by I believe it is pretty much a NEW install is needed everything you move the folder.

Your log if full of paths that can't be found so all the config file no longer work from the move.

Strange, everything is as it was, except the path c:/users/jobe now it's c:/users/oberon

But that shouldn't be the error, since this is a portable.

What paths does it say it can't find? (I know one directory that don't exist anymore, but that shouldn't stop the server?)

New edit:

Now I'm confused, we are talking at the same time [emoji1]

From that post on in that topic.  Not the quote.

Basically how did you make this portable install?  If you copied anything it will not work.

Ok. This is how I did it.

First I downloaded the zip file, extracted it to c:/users/jobe/desktop/mediaserver

There I did the setup and added all users, movies and stuff.. everything worked, but the computer was stuffed with sh*t.

So o copied everything from c:/users/jobe/desktop/mediaserver to a temporary HD.

Reinstalled windows.

Then copied everything back to c:/users/oberon/desktop/mediaserver

The only difference should be the username part of the path, however, since this is a portable, shouldn't this move work?

have you tried running a library scan?

Okay a big issue is your custom metadata path.

,"MetadataPath":"C:\\Users\\Jobe\\Desktop\\mediaserver\\mmeta"
	Application directory: C:\Users\Oberon\Desktop\mediaserver\System
System.UnauthorizedAccessException: Access to the path 'C:\Users\Jobe\Desktop\mediaserver\mmeta\metadata\library\9d\9df4efab1f9566a6088195a3f6029855' is denied.

Of course it can't find the "jobe" dir, it's not there, I could maybe find some somewhere that scans thru all files and change every instance, or I can just change the user name..

But then I wonder how come, then this isn't a "real" portable version?

Well you set the custom path correct?  Portable applies to default settings.  That might be your only issue.  Will have to look at your logs some more, as I thought I saw something about livetv.

Issue with Intros config also

Could not find a part of the path 'C:\Users\Jobe\Desktop\mediaserver\intro'

Overall I think it is more of a custom install then a portable install as it is sometimes not possible for all configs to carry to any locate.

it looks like you configured lots of custom paths, then moved the installation, and now those custom paths are not accessible which is causing problems.

Can't find that setting now, where is that?

Actually, the only paths I have entered are the libraries, everything else is the servers doing..

Well that's not true because happy2play already pointed out some.
