CharleyVarrick 283 Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 (edited) Is there a "bookmark" page that list and explains all the tools available to us for fixing our setup when its not running right for some reason. Between Emby and Kodi, around 10 different maintenance actions can be performed, but after months of using them, I realize its still unclear to me what results can be exactly expected from each of them. Some might need to be used in conjonction within a specific order. Here's just a few of those tools, there's probably even more in the toolbox. Emby for Kodi Refresh Emby Playlists/Video nodes Perform Manual Sync Repair Local Database (force update all content) Perform Local Database Reset Cache all Artwork Emby Scan Library Refresh ...and so on Edited January 14, 2017 by jlr19
im85288 1493 Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 No but this is the perfect opportunity for 1 of the near 30 thousand users to step up to the plate and produce this sort of documentation. A saying I always remember well is "you scratch my back, I'll scratch your back".
CharleyVarrick 283 Posted January 13, 2017 Author Posted January 13, 2017 But "just" a reply to this thread would get buried and lost, I was hoping for an addition to the wiki or a pinned topic...
im85288 1493 Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 Yeah agreed, maybe it's worth pinning this wiki link: https://github.com/MediaBrowser/plugin.video.emby/wiki and maybe adding more to it based on feedback here? 1
CharleyVarrick 283 Posted February 2, 2017 Author Posted February 2, 2017 (edited) I just noticed something odd about my music library and wonder which of the above-mentioned tools would be most appropriate in this situation. In Emby server, when I go in media/Music and go Songs tab: Emby server reports 13834 songs If I go in Kodi, from ribbon select Music/Songs, it reports 13265 That's about a 5% discrepancy, significant but nothing like what follows. If I go back in Emby Server Media/Music and this time hit Artist tab, it reports 2045 artists If I go in Kodi Music/Artist, it reports only 193 artists (!?!?!?) That's really way out in left field What would be the best course of action to get Kodi artists count closer to reality? EDIT: I forgot to say I am aware that audiodb was offline the last 2 weeks of february They're my secondary scraper, musicbrainz being #1 Edited February 2, 2017 by jlr19
CharleyVarrick 283 Posted February 2, 2017 Author Posted February 2, 2017 Read elsewhere about Kodi 17 stable release, I installed it, and as soon as I hit music, Kodi said it needed to rescan my music library, I have all artists showing now (+/- 5%).
