Path Substitution for NFS

Recommended Posts

Saw that path substitution had moved to each individual library. Would it be possible to use NFS paths instead of cifs/samba? If so, how would i write it; nfs://server:/share/movies f.ex ?

When I ran a clean xbmc/kodi installation i always used nfs because it was a lot faster, movies start quicker for example. I was hoping I could get the same result in emby.

You can put whatever you want into the network path field. Whether it is correct or not depends on whether the path is valid or not.

I use NFS.  Yes, that's how you would do it.

I'm running 3.1.2. Unless I'm completely blind, I can't find any path substitution options in the individual library setup. Can someone point that out to me?

Edit your existing paths (or add a new one) for a library , there is now an option there to set network folder share (path substitution)

Got it. Thanks. Also found the answer here:

Where has path substitution gone to?

It's just confusing because we're looking for the term "Path Substitution".

I can appreciate the flexibility this gives, just a pain to reconfigure when you have many MANY folder paths per library. But it definitely makes sense for this setting to be in this location.

Just update the wiki help for this feature and we're good. [emoji6]
