Emby Server Installation error on startup CLR20r3

Recommended Posts

Hi, firstly let me explain I am new to Emby and have just tried to install the server on my Windows 8.1 PC. The download appears to work fine but following installation it tries to launch the application and I immediately get the CLR20r3 error. No matter how many time I install / uninstall, restart the PC the same error immediately comes up and the server wont launch.

I have tried fixing the .net frameworks as advised online but nothing changes what it happening.

Please can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong or point me in the right direction to get it running.

Thanks in advance

Hi Luke, thanks for the quick response. I installed .net framework 4.62 off the site first as it was a pre requisite but the server wouldn't start giving me the same error.

I've since tried removing it, cleaning it and reinstalling it, but no change. Any other help would be appreciated. I thought I was fairly technically minded but struggling to install a piece of software for the first time is making me doubt that

If you disabled Windows management interface WMI, you will need to enable that. Or if you didn't then you'll need to verify that it's running.

Posted

Hi, Just managed to get back on the system. I've checked the WMI and it says it has failed to initialise all classes

Posted

Ok, Emby Server depends on WMI so you will need to resolve that in your Windows installation.

Posted

Ok thanks. I'll do some digging and try to resolve it

Up and running now thanks Luke. Installed a fresh OS and it worked first time. :)
