Can't Uninstall/Upgrade Server Windows 10

Having numerous issues.  When I try to play media on any app, it only allows a 60min trial clip, making it virtually useless.

Tried updating the server software to latest build, but when I try to install or upgrade, I get the message "Application cannot be started. Contact the application vendor."

Tried doing an uninstall, but there's nothing listed in programs & features.  Tried following directions on another post to delete the emby.windows folder and everything in %AppData%\Emby-Server folder, but the service is still listed in the services list and nor can I get rid of it.

Ideas?

Hi,

Make sure to have .NET installed to support Emby. (If not mistaking, https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/dotnet/2016/08/02/announcing-net-framework-4-6-2/)

You can also manually update Emby by going into the main Emby directory and extract the update system folder, overwriting the current files. (https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Emby/releases/download/3.1.2/emby.windows.zip)

About the service, are you starting from service or in emby, you cannot have both set to start at boot.

If your not sure what to do with the service, just leave it as disabled, then enable it in the Emby settings to auto start at login.

Last, to uninstall fully Emby, go to %AppData%\Roaming\Emby-Server\System and use the MediaBrowser.Uninstaller.exe located in that folder.

Hi, I would suggest installing the latest version from the website on top of your existing installation. Let us know how it goes. Thanks !
