HTPC23 4 Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 My Setup: Living room HTPC has WMC on it. I installed ServerWMC via this link on it: https://googledrive.com/host/0ByNnAMYBoWvfTk8tRWJXYko1T2c/index.html HTPC in basement is running MB3Server. Does not have WMC on it. Have installed the ServerWMC plug-in for it pointing to my HTPC in the living which has WMC. Issues I am having... 1) MB3Server keeps giving me the following error notification: Refresh Guide failed However when I go to the guide in LiveTV its there. 2) When I try and watch LiveTV I am getting the following error: Video Error There was an error playing the video. Please ensure there is an open tuner available. I have 4 total tuners available (HDHomerun units) so not sure what's going on there. I can watch TV just fine in WMC. 3) Finally I tried to watch a recorded TV show via LiveTV and it would start the video and play for about 3-5 seconds before the video would lock up. Anyone having these issues also? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
bennymac 47 Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 Hi, You're not alone. I have EXACTLY the same 3 issues you've described here. I have a single dual hdhomerun tuner (2 tuners) On point 3 i've noticed that if i hit the stop button on the player controls, then play the same channel again, it generally works fine passed the 3-5 second mark. It's weird. Restarting the PC "sometimes" gets things going again, but it's annoying. I've been putting it down to the service being new....i live in hope!
HTPC23 4 Posted January 29, 2014 Author Posted January 29, 2014 Well good to hear my issues are not isolated. Sorry to hear that you are having the same issues! Going to try and mess around some more with it tonight and will post any findings. Hopefully someone else will have some suggestions also. Agree on the 'it being new'. MB3 and everything around it is awesome!!! Speaking of which, I'm going to go donate! 2
Tikuf 663 Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 To even start guys we need some logs. ffmpeg and server (in debug) for starters. If you are using IE I would also suggest that you try in ff or chrome.
krustyreturns 191 Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 Also, if you are running swmc on a different machine then mb3, make sure the 'recorded tv' folder that is used for new recordings is a network share and that the mb3 machine can access it. Make sure the network path to it is entered in the 'folders' tab of swmc.
HTPC23 4 Posted January 30, 2014 Author Posted January 30, 2014 Well I didn't get a chance to mess with it last night but my 'Recorded TV' folder is shared and the MB3Server can see it along with some other PCs on my home network. I did notice one thing that was kinda odd. ServerWMC shows the following network paths... but when I look on that PC (ZINOHD) and drill down the path is actually.. \\ZINOHD\Users\Public\Public Recorded TV So per Tikuf's post how do I get you logs? What is ffmpeg and server (in debug)?
Tikuf 663 Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 @@HTPC23 here are some instruction on getting logs and how to activate debug for the server log http://mediabrowser.tv/community/index.php?/topic/1209-getting-useful-logs-media-info/
Jeff Brown 0 Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 Also, if you are running swmc on a different machine then mb3, make sure the 'recorded tv' folder that is used for new recordings is a network share and that the mb3 machine can access it. Make sure the network path to it is entered in the 'folders' tab of swmc. Ok I have the server side set up but where the heck is the front end at I have looked in MBT and MB?
