Vera plugin help

Recommended Posts

I was using the previous Vera plugin with no issues but I can't even connect the new one to my Vera. I get an error message stating:

Exception of type 'MediaBrowser.Common.Extensions.ResourceNotFoundException' was thrown.

Can anyone help with this?

Try sending the developer of the plugin, chef, a private message.

Sorry been a mess of a couple weeks.

@tp456

Do you have a static IP on your vera unit?

Would you mind moving the config XML out of the "configuration" folder in emby and then try restarting the server?

I am wondering if the plugin is having issues with the reverse look up of the vera unit IP on the subnet.

Sorry for the hassle. I'll be back here to check on the progress.

Yeah I do have a static IP on it. Sorry but I'm having a hard time finding the xml file for this - which path should I be looking under? It seems like I have a million different emby/MB folders and I can't seem to find it.

I don't have that folder - is it this one? Not sure which of these files would be for Vera:

I don't know if this will help but my config XML file is located in the "plugins" folder...

"\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server\plugins\configurations"

Love the plugin by the way @@chef !!! Even though MainPluginConfigurationPage reports no device detected (my model is the Vera Plus), it still retrieved my local IP and my scenes so everything works perfectly.

Sorry! Yes in plugins/configuration

Shit! My bad. I have a feeling that the config XML has been corrupted and that is why it will not load.

Sorry for that late reply

Note: I will add Vera plus.

which xml file is it?

MiOSEmbyZwaveControllerCS.xml

By the way, by removing this XML you will have to set everything up again in the plugin.

Just cut and paste it onto you desktop and restart the server.

That way there is a backup of your settings.

Sorry @@tp546, I do apologize for the crappy help I'm supplying here.

"AppData/Roaming/MediaBrowser-Server/plugins/configuration"

that should get you where you need to be to remove the xml file.

Also, please update to the newest release of the plugin.

Then restart the server.

Lets us see if this works.

I think you'll be back in business.

I have found your initial error. It happens when a user presses the "Refresh Devices" button on the plugin UI.

I have removed it, because I couldn't get it to work properly.

it won't matter because as long as your device is on and logged into emby, it will appear in the list

No need to apologize - just happy you're willing to help me get this figured out.

Okay so I deleted the file and restarted the server, but I still get the same error message. Anything else I can try?

Would you mind testing this version of the plugin.

It targets the newest version of the MediaBrowser.Common.dll

There were some changes in how plugins where developed and although I made changes in the code, I hadn't tageted newer version of the API Libraraies.

Try this:

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/46151346/MiOSEmbyZWaveControllerCS/MiOSEmbyZWaveControllerCS/bin/Debug/MiOSEmbyZWaveControllerCS.zip

please replace the dll in your "plugins" folder and restart the server.

Does the server actually load? And you get the error when you attempt to open the config page?

Or

Does it error out the server and the server can not load?

It loads but when I hit the image to try to load my Vera, that's when I get the error. I also just noticed that it does crash the server afterward and on the computer that the server is running, I get a dialog box that says "Unhandled exception: Value cannot be null. Parameter name: source"

Does that help at all?

Yes it does! just out of curiosity, does the configuration XML file load your Vera IP Address?

Could you open the "MiOSEmbyZWaveController.XML file and see what is written in there please.

I know you're busy man, but we have hit an impass here. We are both using the same version of the beta server. I have updated all the API libraraies, and the Vera plugin code is upto date with current changes. In most cases the plug will load, however in this user case it does not.
With out requesting  a bunch of your time, could you chime in here and tell us what "source" would be in the error mentioned above?

It is most certainly an error in the loading of the JavaScript.

I can release code if that would help.

Can you post a log that shows the server crashing please. I need to read through it.

All the ones I posted before were modified around the times when it was crashing - do they not show the crashes in the logs?
